Kota Pontianak, 4 April 2018 - Seramai 41 pelajar WE01 Ekonomi Perkhidmatan mengikuti program lawatan sambil belajar ke Kota Pontianak dari 31 Mac 2018 sehingga 4 April 2018 bagi membuat penelitian pembagunan rekreasi di peringkat antarabangsa sekaligus menjadi ruang pendedahan sharing good practice yang dapat diterapkan ke dalam projek service learning yang dilaksanakan di daerah Simunjan pada semester ini. Pengetahuan yang dikumpul dan dipelajari sepanjang kursus akan dibentangkan ke dalam pameran khas bersama komuniti Simunjan yang dijangka untuk dilaksanakan pada pertengahan Mei 2018 ini.
Dalam lawatan ini, pelajar turut di bawa melawat ke Universitas Tabnjungpura (UNTAN) bagi lawatan separa rasmi bagi aktiviti muhibah pelajar Ekonomi dan Perniagaan bagi kedua-dua universiti. Dalam lawatan ini, Universitas Tanjungpura melaksanakan sistem buddies bagi pelajar UNIMAS untuk memastikan tugasan di Kota Pontianak ini dapat dilaksanakan dengan jayanya. Seramai 16 buddies membantu dan diselia oleh Dr Helma Malini, pensyarah Pengurusan dari UNTAN.
Lantaran pelajar-pelajar WE01 merasakan aktiviti ini membantu mereka meneliti perbezaan dan persamaan cabaran industri rekreasi di kedua-dua negara. Menurut Muhaimin Satun; ketua pelajar WE01, aktiviti lawatan seperti ini membantu membuka fikiran dan peluang selain mempelajari cabaran perkembangan pendidikan tinggi di kedua-dua negara.

14th Mini Film Festival is calling for submission.
There are TWO (2) categories opened to public: ➢Category A - Students from higher learning institution.
➢Category B - Secondary school students.
Submission of film is opened to all kind of genres and themes made within 15 mins only.
Official Top 5 selected films will be screened during the festival and the winner will receive certificate and a trophy.

BENGKEL PEMANTAPAN VISI, MISI DAN PELAN STRATEGIK PUSAT SUKAN 2018
19-20 Mac : Pusat Sukan telah menganjurkan Bengkel Pemantapan Visi, Misi Dan Pelan Strategik Pusat Sukan 2018 pada 19-20 Mac 2018 bertempat di Bilik Mesyuarat/Seminar, Stadium UNIMAS . Ucapan Aluan telah disampaikan oleh Penagarah Pusat Sukan, Prof Madya Dr Azhaili Baharun. Dalam kata aluan beliau, mengharapkan dengan adanya bengkel ini akan meningkatkan lagi mutu perkhidmatan Pusat Sukan di samping memantapkan lagi pentadbiran, pengurusan kemudahan sukan serta kecemerlangan sukan di peringkat universiti dan umum. Turut dijemput adalah En. Yaman Hassan, Penolong Pendaftar Kanan , Bahagian Pentadbiran Am yang telah memberi taklimat tentang Manual Prosedur Kerja (MPK), Fail Meja (FM) dan Rekod & Daftar Fail. Bengkel ini telah melibatkan semua staf iaitu seramai 18 orang sataf Pusat Sukan.

KUALA LUMPUR: The construction of the Universiti Malaysia Sarawak (Unimas) teaching hospital is expected to begin next year, the Dewan Rakyat was told yesterday.
Higher Education Minister Datuk Seri Idris Jusoh said a proposal on the construction of the hospital had been sent to the Economic Planning Unit for inclusion in the fourth rolling plan of the 11th Malaysia Plan.
“After the approval, InsyaAllah (God willing), we will begin construction in 2019,” he said when winding up debate for the ministry on the motion of thanks for the royal address.
Unimas proposed the construction of the hospital in 2015 to enable staff and students of the university and the nearby residents to obtain medical services.

We would like to refer to clause 10.1.2 of the Graduate Studies Regulation where it stated that the pre-requisite for a thesis to be submitted for examination is that the student has undergone and passed the Research Methodology course. So therefore, all new students are invited to attend this course.

KURSUS KEPEGAWAIAN TEKNIKAL OLAHRAGA GRED 3, 2018
Seramai 43 orang peserta yang terdiri daripada staf UNIMAS telah mengikuti Kursus Kepegawaian Teknikal Olahraga Gred 3, 2018 pada 12-13 Mac 2018 bertempat di Stadium UNIMAS. Kursus ini adalah anjuran Unit Latihan & Media , Pusat Sukan dengan kerjasama Unit Latihan , Bahagian Pembangunan Modal Insan (BPMI) dan Persatuan Olahraga Sarawak. Ucapan aluan telah disampaikan oleh Pengarah Pusat Sukan, Prof Madya Dr Azhaili Baharun. Beliau amat teruja dengan sambutan dan sokongan daripada para peserta yang mengikuti kursus ini. Harapan beliau para peserta dapat menimba ilmu daripada kursus ini dan bersedia berkhidmat kepada universiti sekiranya diperlukan. Setelah menamatkan kursus selama 2 hari secara teori dan praktikal , para peserta akan menduduki peperiksaan Pegawai Teknikal Olahraga Gred 3 pada 7 April 2018 di mana ia akan diadakan serentak di seluruh negara. Semoga para peserta kursus ini akan mendapat lulus dengan cemerlang dalam peperiksaan itu nanti.

Buat julung kalinya Pusat Sukan UNIMAS akan menganjurkan Pertandingan Penalti Futsal pada 21 April 2018 (Sabtu) bertempat di Arena Futsal, Komplek Sukan UNIMAS. Pertandingan ini hanya untuk staf dan pelajar UNIMAS SAHAJA. Sebanyak 2 kategori yang akan dipertandingkan iaitu Kategori Lelaki & Kategori Wanita di mana setiap pasukan terdiri daripada 4 orang pemain. Syarat penyertaan amat mudah, tiada had penyertaan dan gabungan di antara staf dan pelajar amat dialu-alukan. Yuran Penyertaan hanya RM30.00 sahaja/ setiap pasukan. Hadiah wang tunai disediakan kepada pasukan hingga ke Suku Akhir. Jangan lepaskan peluang ini!

The Secretariat of Knowledge Transfer Programme (KTP) is inviting researchers to submit proposal under the theme "Life Long Learning" for the third cycle for year 2018.
Detailed information and application form on KTP grants can be obtained either at ktc.usm.my or as per attachment. For those who are interested, please submit your completed application to UNIMAS Innovation through your respective Faculty/ Institute before 26 March 2018 to be vetted at expert panel level. Each university will then submit the best 3 projects to the KTP National Secretariat for their final evaluation and selection.

KOTA SAMARAHAN, 29 April 2019 – Sebagai usaha menyemarakkan program membaca, Pusat Khidmat Maklumat Akademik telah mengambil inisiatif menganjurkan Program Cinta Ilmu selama dua hari bermula 29 April lepas sebagai menyokong Read@UNIMAS dan menarik minat membaca dan memupuk kecintaan kepada ilmu dalam kalangan warga UNIMAS.
Objektif program adalah untuk menyemarakkan semangat membaca dalam kalangan warga UNIMAS,memupuk kecintaan kepada ilmu pengetahuan, menggalakkan kempen menderma buku dalam kalangan warga UNIMAS serta meningkatkan kesedaran budaya membaca di kalangan masyarakat.
Antara aktiviti diadakan seperti gimik perasmian, Jom Baca 10 minit, Read Out Loud yang dilakukan oleh tiga orang pelajar dari sekolah SK St. Martin, SK Empila dan SK Dato Mohd Musa Samarahan, persembahan nyanyian oleh Adik Sofia Arissa, Read and Write with Emerald, pameran dan jualan buku dan cenderahati, jualan makanan dan minuman (food truck)Yakub
Istimewanya Program Cinta Ilmu kali ini turut dihadiri oleh Miss Planet International 2019, Cik Viviana Lin Watson,19, yang telah mewakili Malaysia ke peringkat antarabangsa untuk Miss Planet International pada 1 Mac 2019 di Cambodia dan telah merangkul anugerah 2nd runner up Miss Planet International 2019 bersandarkan minat membaca yang mendalam dan mempunyai pengetahuan am yang luas.

Kota Samarahan, 30 August 2018: A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed between Universiti Malaysia Sarawak and Estream Software Sdn. Bhd, Malaysia with the aim of establishing a basis upon which UNIMAS and Estream may explore areas for cooperation and collaboration such as research, staff engagement, industrial study visits and student industrial placement.
This event was officiated by Ybhg Professor Datuk Dr Mohamad Kadim Suaidi as Vice-Chancellor, Universiti Malaysia Sarawak and Mr Desmond Law Hoe Yan, Managing Director of Estream Software Sdn. Bhd, Malaysia.
This event was witnessed by Dean of the Faculty of Economics and Business, Associate Professor Michael Tinggi and Ms Ong Bee Wei, the Education Advisor of Estream Software Sdn. Bhd., as well as Unimas staff and other invited guests.
The Memorandum of Understanding is in line with UNIMAS's vision of being an exemplary university through the pursuit of excellence in teaching, research and scholarship.
