Announcement: UNIMAS AHA Training Site Course Calendar 2018 (2^nd Half)

The UNIMAS American Heart Association (AHA) Training Site is pleased to announce its latest course offerings for the second half of 2018.

UNIMAS is an official training site that offers the following AHA Courses:

• Courses for Healthcare Professionals:
  • AHA Basic Life Support (BLS) Provider Course for Healthcare Providers
  • AHA Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) Provider Course
  • AHA Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) Provider Course
• Courses for Non-Medically Trained Personnel:
  • AHA Heartsaver® First Aid, CPR & AED Provider Course

Enrolled participants will receive the official AHA course package upon registration. Participants who successfully fulfill the assessment (written and skills testing) requirements of the course will be awarded with an AHA provider status which is internationally recognized and valid for 2-years.

All courses will be conducted by AHA certified instructors in the Clinical Simulation Centre, Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences, Universiti Malaysia Sarawak (UNIMAS), Kota Samarahan Campus. The training facility is fully equipped with simulators of varying fidelity levels to ensure our participants are fully immersed in the training programmes.

Call for Research Grant Proposals_Petronas-P.Ramlee Chair Cycle 2

The Petronas-P.Ramlee Research Grant Chair endeavours to encourage and support research in the following areas :

“Interdisciplinary and collaborative research areas in creative arts, performing arts and arts management particularly in applied and functional design, music, film, drama, theatre, fine arts, electronic arts, animation and any field related to applied and creative arts disciplines.”

Researchers who are interested are encouraged to apply and submit proposals through IRIS (select Petronas-P. Ramlee Chair) and submit the hard copy to the Deputy Dean (Research) of Faculty of Applied and Creative Arts (FACA). Please note the deadline is 31st October 2019.

Kindly note the terms and conditions of the grant are as follow :

• Priority for non-principal investigators or grant holders who’s grants have expired
• Maximum grant duration is 1 year
• Grant output = 1 publication
• Maximum budget = RM10,000
• Researchers are to present and share the findings upon completion of the grant

Buat julung kalinya Pusat Sukan UNIMAS akan menganjurkan UNIMAS International Regatta 2019 pada 19-20 Oktober 2019 bertempat di Tasik UNIMAS. Kejohanan ini dibahagikan kepada dua (2) kategori iaitu Kategori Perahu Naga IPT  dengan jarak 500m dan Kategori Kayak Terbuka (200m dan 500m). Kategori Perahu Naga yag dipertandingkan adalah Perahu Naga 12 Pekayuh Lelaki IPT dan Perahu Naga 12 Pekayuh Campuran (8 lelaki + 4 wanita). Manakala Kategori Kayak Terbuka adalah Perseorangan Lelaki 200m, Perseorangan Wanita 200m, Bergu Lelaki 200m, Bergu Wanita 200m, Bergu Campuran 200m, Perseorangan Lelaki 500m, Perseorangan Wanita 500m, Bergu Lelaki 500m, Bergu Wanita 500m dan Bergu Campuran 500m. Pemenang tempat pertama hingga ketiga setiap kategori akan membawa pulang hadiah berbentuk wang tunai dan pingat.

Kejohanan kali ini telah berjaya menarik penyertaan IPT sekitar Sarawak , Sabah, Brunei Darussalam dan Indonesia. Di antara pasukan yang telah mengesahkan penyertaan adalah Universiti Brunei Darussalam, Universiti Tanjung Pura (Indonesia), Universiti Teknologi MARA Sarawak, Universiti Malaysia Sabah Kampus Labuan (UMSKAL), Perbadanan Sukan Sarawak (SSC), orang perseorangan dan Universiti Malaysia Sarawak sendiri.

Warga UNIMAS dan orang ramai adalah dijemput hadir untuk menyaksikan Kejohanan UNIMAS International Regatta 2019.

KOTA SAMARAHAN, 9 Oktober 2019 : Bahagian Dasar dan Integriti (BDI) dan Pejabat Audit Dalam (PAD) Universiti Malaysia Sarawak (UNIMAS) telah menganjurkan Hari Integriti UNIMAS 2019 (HIU19) bertempat di Arena Gemilang, DeTAR PUTRA, UNIMAS hari ini.

Perasmian HIU19 telah disempurnakan oleh Naib Canselor UNIMAS, Profesor Datuk Dr Mohamad Kadim Suaidi.

Objektif penganjuran HIU19 adalah sebagai pemangkin kepada semua warga UNIMAS agar sentiasa membudayakan peribadi yang berintegriti tinggi dalam menjalankan tanggungjawab masing-masing dan memupuk budaya kerja yang cemerlang dan kesedaran mengenai pentingnya untuk membina nilai-nilai murni, beramanah, jujur, setia dan berintegriti dalam segala urusan kerja seharian.

Antara aktiviti yang diadakan seperti persembahan sketsa integriti yang bertajuk “Semarak Pertiwiku’ iaitu hasil arahan Encik Muhammad Azri bin Ali, Pensyarah Fakulti Seni Gunaan dan Kreatif (FSGK), UNIMAS dan dijayakan pementasan oleh para pelajar FSGK sendiri.

Sketsa tersebut menceritakan sebab dan akibat yang dihadapi oleh individu yang terjebak dengan gejala rasuah disamping membuka mata penonton mengenai pemerkasaan integriti dan membangkitkan semangat cinta akan ibu pertiwi.

Kota Samarahan, 9 Oct 2019: Faculty of Engineering, Universiti Malaysia Sarawak (UNIMAS) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Reveron Consulting Sdn Bhd to strengthen cooperation towards developing professional capability in the contemporary knowledge of Building Information Modeling (BIM).

The MoU serves to establish joint efforts to promote academic collaboration between the academia and industry on the application of BIM and related infrastructure lifecycle solutions. The purpose of the MoU is to provide students with the opportunity for exposure to computing technology and information systems in the construction industry, which is in line with the industrial revolution 4.0.

Professor Datuk Dr Mohamad Kadim Suaidi, Vice-Chancellor UNIMAS and Mr Ravindranath Koka, CEO Reveron signed the MoU. The MoU signing was witnessed by Associate Professor Ir Dr Siti Noor Linda Taib, Dean of Engineering Faculty UNIMAS and Dato’ Seri Mohamed Azahari Mohamed Kamil, Advisor, Reveron Consulting.

Under the MoU, Reveron will sponsor a three-year BENTLEY software campus subscription for UNIMAS.
