Announcement: UNIMAS AHA Training Site Course Calendar 2018 (2nd Half)
The UNIMAS American Heart Association (AHA) Training Site is pleased to announce its latest course offerings for the second half of 2018.
UNIMAS is an official training site that offers the following AHA Courses:
- Courses for Healthcare Professionals:
- Courses for Non-Medically Trained Personnel:
Enrolled participants will receive the official AHA course package upon registration. Participants who successfully fulfill the assessment (written and skills testing) requirements of the course will be awarded with an AHA provider status which is internationally recognized and valid for 2-years.
All courses will be conducted by AHA certified instructors in the Clinical Simulation Centre, Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences, Universiti Malaysia Sarawak (UNIMAS), Kota Samarahan Campus. The training facility is fully equipped with simulators of varying fidelity levels to ensure our participants are fully immersed in the training programmes.

It is my great pleasure to share that our in-house researchers have attained 1 Best of the Best award, 3 gold awards and 1 bronze medals from 12 research projects participated at the International Conference and Exposition on Inventions by Institutions of Higher Learning (PECIPTA 2019).PECIPTA 2019 attracts participation from 694 participants; 301 from public universities, 90 from private institutions, 12 from international institutions, 8 from other institutions, 18 from STEM, 27 from special education innovation, 18 groups consisting of 54 students from FAST4ward: IOT Racing, 12 groups consisting of 59 members from Fraunhofer Makethon, 103 students from IME Solidworks Design Competition and 22 exhibitors from industries and government agencies.UNIMAS inventions at the PECIPTA 2019 and their awards are as below:BEST of the BEST Award:1. Call for Research Grant Proposals_Petronas-P.Ramlee Chair Cycle 2
The Petronas-P.Ramlee Research Grant Chair endeavours to encourage and support research in the following areas :
“Interdisciplinary and collaborative research areas in creative arts, performing arts and arts management particularly in applied and functional design, music, film, drama, theatre, fine arts, electronic arts, animation and any field related to applied and creative arts disciplines.”
Researchers who are interested are encouraged to apply and submit proposals through IRIS (select Petronas-P. Ramlee Chair) and submit the hard copy to the Deputy Dean (Research) of Faculty of Applied and Creative Arts (FACA). Please note the deadline is 31st October 2019.
Kindly note the terms and conditions of the grant are as follow :
- Priority for non-principal investigators or grant holders who’s grants have expired
- Maximum grant duration is 1 year
- Grant output = 1 publication
- Maximum budget = RM10,000
- Researchers are to present and share the findings upon completion of the grant

Kota Samarahan, 8 Oktober 2019 – Seramai 20 orang graduan telah menerima sijil pada majlis graduasi Certificate of Manufacturing Technology, CMT di Dewan Syarahan, Pusat Islam Tun Abang Salahuddin (PITAS), UNIMAS hari ini. Mereka adalah graduan sulung dari program ini yang merupakan sebuah program kemahiran yang dilaksanakan daripada memorandum persefahaman antara UNIMAS, ACME Integrated Services Sdn Bhd dan ASTEEL Sdn Bhd.
Program CMT ini adalah inisiatif syarikat dalam usaha memberi ilmu pengetahuan dan kemahiran secara berterusan kepada para pekerja bagi meningkatkan kompetensi mereka di dalam kerjaya. Program ini telah dijalankan bermula April tahun ini yang melibatkan beberapa siri modul seperti Work Ethics in ASTEEL, Basic Computer, Metal Sheet Forming, Introduction to 5S & Safety Practice, Basic Electrical and Measurements dan projek berkumpulan. Tenaga pengajar bagi program ini adalah daripada para pensyarah dari Fakulti Kejuruteraan, UNIMAS.
Pada majlis graduasi hari ini, Yang Berbahagia Naib Canselor UNIMAS, Prof Datuk Dr Mohamad Kadim Suaidi telah menyampaikan sijil tersebut kepada 20 orang para penerima dan disaksikan oleh Ketua Pegawai Eksekutif ASTEEL Sdn Bhd, Encik Victor Hii Liu Thian dan Pengarah ACME Integrated Services Sdn Bhd, Datuk John Lau.

Pelajar dikehendaki untuk membuat semakan maklumat peribadi pada eStudent dan pastikan maklumat peribadi tersebut terkini dan tepat. Sila berurusan di kaunter BPPs untuk mengemaskini maklumat peribadi tersebut sekiranya ada perubahan.
Pengemaskinian maklumat peribadi ini penting bagi memastikan kelancaran urusan seperti berikut:
- Pelajar dapat dihubungi bagi urusan-urusan penting berkaitan akademik
- Urusan surat menyurat dihantar ke alamat yang betul. Contoh, surat akuan bergraduat, surat penajaan dan lain-lain surat berkaitan
- Nama yang dicetak pada transkrip dan sijil adalah tepat
