    Announcement: UNIMAS AHA Training Site Course Calendar 2018 (2nd Half)

    The UNIMAS American Heart Association (AHA) Training Site is pleased to announce its latest course offerings for the second half of 2018.

    UNIMAS is an official training site that offers the following AHA Courses:

    Enrolled participants will receive the official AHA course package upon registration. Participants who successfully fulfill the assessment (written and skills testing) requirements of the course will be awarded with an AHA provider status which is internationally recognized and valid for 2-years.

    All courses will be conducted by AHA certified instructors in the Clinical Simulation Centre, Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences, Universiti Malaysia Sarawak (UNIMAS), Kota Samarahan Campus. The training facility is fully equipped with simulators of varying fidelity levels to ensure our participants are fully immersed in the training programmes.

    It is my great pleasure to share that our in-house researchers have attained  1 Best of the Best award, 3 gold awards and 1 bronze medals from 12 research projects participated at the  International Conference and Exposition on Inventions by Institutions of Higher Learning (PECIPTA 2019).
     
    PECIPTA 2019 attracts participation from 694 participants; 301 from public universities, 90 from private institutions, 12 from international institutions, 8 from other institutions, 18 from STEM, 27 from special education innovation, 18 groups consisting of 54 students from FAST4ward: IOT Racing, 12 groups consisting of 59 members from Fraunhofer Makethon, 103 students from IME Solidworks Design Competition and 22 exhibitors from industries and government agencies.

    Call for Research Grant Proposals_Petronas-P.Ramlee Chair Cycle 2

    The Petronas-P.Ramlee Research Grant Chair endeavours to encourage and support research in the following areas :

    “Interdisciplinary and collaborative research areas in creative arts, performing arts and arts management particularly in applied and functional design, music, film, drama, theatre, fine arts, electronic arts, animation and any field related to applied and creative arts disciplines.”

    Researchers who are interested are encouraged to apply and submit proposals through IRIS (select Petronas-P. Ramlee Chair) and submit the hard copy to the Deputy Dean (Research) of Faculty of Applied and Creative Arts (FACA). Please note the deadline is 31st October 2019.

    Kindly note the terms and conditions of the grant are as follow :

    • Priority for non-principal investigators or grant holders who’s grants have expired
    • Maximum grant duration is 1 year
    • Grant output = 1 publication
    • Maximum budget = RM10,000
    • Researchers are to present and share the findings upon completion of the grant

    Daerah Padawan, 6 Oktober - Kelab Kayak UNIMAS (pelajar) telah menyertai acara kayak & rakit sempena Safari Rakit Padawan 2019 yang telah berlangsung pada 6 Oktober 2019 (Ahad) bertempat di Daerah Padawan. Ia merupakan acara tahunan anjuran Majlis Perbandaran Padawan. Kelab Kayak UNIMAS telah menyertai acara ini semenjak tahun 2007.

    Kelab Kayak UNIMAS telah menghantar 5 pasukan kayak untuk Kategori Kayak 40km bermula dari Kpg Annah Rais & tamat di Kpg Git. Manakala acara rakit pula Kelab Kayak UNIMAS telah menghantar satu (1) pasukan wanita bagi Kategori Rakit Wanita Terbuka 20km bermula dari Kpg Danu ke Kpg Git..

    Berikut adalah keputusan Rasmi Safari Rakit Padawan 2019 :

    KATEGORI KAYAK 40km (Kpg Annah Rais ke Kpg Git):

    KOTA SAMARAHAN, 7 Oktober 2019: Universiti Malaysia Sarawak (UNIMAS) telah bekerjasama dengan Sarawak Multimedia Authority (SMA), Jabatan Pendidikan Negeri Sarawak, Kementerian Pendidikan, Sains dan Penyelidikan Teknologi Sarawak, Sekolah Kebangsaan Rakyat dan Biro Pendidikan N8 Satok bagi menjayakan Karnival Satok Science, Technology, Engineering, Maths (STEM) yang diadakan pada 5 sehingga 6 Oktober lepas di Sekolah Kebangsaan Rakyat Jalan Bolhasaan Kuching.

    Perasmian Karnival Satok STEM tersebut telah dirasmikan oleh Ketua Menteri Sarawak, Datuk Patinggi (Dr) Abang Haji Abdul Rahman Zohari Tun Datuk Abang Haji Openg manakala majlis penangguhan karnival disempurnakan oleh Setiausaha Politik Ketua Menteri, Encik Samad Gani.

    Ketua Menteri dalam ucapan berkata penganjuran karnival STEM Satok adalah bertepatan dengan hasrat Kerajaan Negeri untuk memperluas dan mendedahkan kepentingan pelajar sekolah rendah dalam era digital.

    Beliau menambah, salah satu langkah Kerajaan Negeri bagi menjayakan pembelajaran STEM adalah memperbanyakkan makmal STEM di semua bahagian di Sarawak.
