Announcement: UNIMAS AHA Training Site Course Calendar 2018 (2nd Half)
The UNIMAS American Heart Association (AHA) Training Site is pleased to announce its latest course offerings for the second half of 2018.
UNIMAS is an official training site that offers the following AHA Courses:
- Courses for Healthcare Professionals:
- Courses for Non-Medically Trained Personnel:
Enrolled participants will receive the official AHA course package upon registration. Participants who successfully fulfill the assessment (written and skills testing) requirements of the course will be awarded with an AHA provider status which is internationally recognized and valid for 2-years.
All courses will be conducted by AHA certified instructors in the Clinical Simulation Centre, Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences, Universiti Malaysia Sarawak (UNIMAS), Kota Samarahan Campus. The training facility is fully equipped with simulators of varying fidelity levels to ensure our participants are fully immersed in the training programmes.

Objectives
The objectives of the conference are as follows:
1. To promote and disseminate scientific research in the social, biological and medical sciences in Borneo;
2. To enable the research community, public, interested Borneo government departments, and others to keep abreast of ongoing research and its results;
3. To serve as a vehicle for drawing attention to urgent research and its results;
4. To provide a forum for the flow of information on Borneo research arising from many diverse sources;
Venue
The Conference will be held on campus at Detar Putra, Universiti Malaysia Sarawak, Kota Samarahan, Sarawak, Malaysia.
Session Themes and Panels
This will be a multidisciplinary conference dealing specifically with Borneo, with plenary sessions and sessions devoted to special topics and panels including but not limited to the following fields:

Tiga projek tahun akhir Jabatan Kejuruteraan Elektrik dan Elektronik telah berjaya disenarai pendek untuk menyertai Innovate Sarawak Challenge pada 2 Mei 2019 yang berlangsung di Dewan Mutiara, Detar Putra UNIMAS. Track yang disertai adalah Intel, Google dan Mathwork. Pelajar Lee Yee Hui dan Alan Ling Sieng Yew dengan projek bertajuk “Diabetic Retinopathy Grading and Detection (Dr. Grade) Mobile Application” telah berjaya memenangi hadiah tempat ke-2. Penyelia ketiga-tiga projek adalah Dr Kuryati Kipli.

There are various categories of competition and award which open to academics, researchers, school teachers, secondary and primary school students to showcase innovations and best practices on e-Learning applications as well as interactive teaching and learning approaches.

25 Julai 2019: Pihak UKKP telah mengadakan satu lawatan kerja ke Trienekens Integrated Waste Management Plant di Mambong, Kuching. Rombongan ini di ketuai oleh En. Abdul Halim bin Hashim, Ketua UKKP dan disertai oleh wakil-wakil JKKP PTj, iaitu dari FK, FSTS, FPSK, FSKPM, FEP, PKMA, Pej Pembangunan dan Pusat Pengajian Pra-U. Peserta adalah terdiri daripada ahli-ahli JKKP PTj yang telah mengikuti kursus Safety and Health Representative Training pada 29 Jun 2019 yang lepas.
Lawatan ini telah bertujuan untuk mendedahkan ahli-ahli JKKP PTj tentang pelaksanaan program dan kaedah serta cabaran yang dihadapi untuk membina budaya KKP dan mengerakkan aktiviti-aktiviti JKKP mereka. Lawatan ini telah berjaya mencapai matlamatnya. Terima kasih kepada pihak Trienenkens Integrated Waste Management Plant.

25 Julai 2019: Fakulti Sains Sosial Dan Kemanusiaan (FSSK) telah mengadakan mesyuarat JKKP bersama dengan pihak UKKP.
Mesyuarat pertama JKKP FSSk 2019 telah diadakan sekitar Mac 2019. Hasil mesyuarat tersebut, pihak FSSK telah membuat penambahbaikan antaranya membuat notis untuk keselamatan penggunaan (load) mesin angkat (lift). Tindakan proaktif ini adalah merupakan satu usaha yang sangat baik kearah kesejahteraan warga FSSK. Usaha memantapkan KKP hendaklah dijalankan secara berterusan kerana perkara berkaitan KKP adalah sangat dinamik.
Mesyuarat Julai 2019 pula membincangkan masaalah berkaitan dengan kesihatan pekerja. Secara dasarnya, staf dinasihatkan untuk mendapat pemeriksaan kesihatan. Temujanji dengan Occupational Health Doctor (OHD), Klinik Kesihatan Kota Sentosa akan diurus oleh pihak UKKP. Selain itu, satu mesyuarat/perbincangan akan dibuat bersama UKKP untuk persediaan FSSK melaksanakan aktiviti pengungsian bangunan.

19 Julai 2019: Pihak PKTMK telah dengan jayanya mengadakan mesyuarat JKKP pada sukuan yang ke 3 tahun 2019. Mesyuarat ini dilaksanakan sebanyak 4 kali dalam setahun. Isu yang amat menarik dalam mesyuarat pada kali ini ialah tentang persediaan dan persiapan dari segi keselamatan dan kesihatan pekerjaan untuk perpindahan PKTMK ke bangunan baru.
Isu agronomik berkaitan dengan manusia/staf dan komputer serta pencahayaan juga telah mendapat perhatian. Message tentang kesan-kesan terhadap kesihatan pekerja dan langkah-langkah penambahbaikan telah dibentangkan dengan jelas. Pihak JKKP PKTMK sedang berusaha untuk menyediakan satu laporan yang komprehensif untuk kegunaan pejabat mereka. UKKP akan melihat kesesuaian laporan ini untuk perkongsian dengan PTj-PTj yang lain. Ini adalah merupakan satu contoh hasil daripada mesyuarat JKKP PTj yang boleh diangkat ke peringkat Universiti, untuk membantu PTj-PTj lain. Syabas warga PKTMK.

KOTA SAMARAHAN, 25th July 2019: Universiti Malaysia Sarawak (UNIMAS), along with Sarawak Multimedia Authority (SMA), Swinburne University of Technology Sarawak Campus (Swinburne), University College Technology of Sarawak (UCTS), Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM) and Curtin University Malaysia (Curtin) organised the Innovation Technology Exposition 2019 (InTEX19).
InTEX19 initially is part of UNIMAS on-going research and innovation initiatives; and serves as a platform for academics from UNIMAS to showcase their research outcome and translate them into innovative and creative research outputs such as products and designs.
Pursuant to the participations of UNIMAS, Swinburne, UCTS, UiTM and Curtin at the International Digital Economy Conference Sarawak 2018 (IDECS), which was held from 13th to 15th May 2018, the SMA had initiated the signings of Memorandums of Understanding (MOUs) between these institutions of higher learning (IHLs) in Sarawak. As such, InTEX19 celebrates this partnership, which saw SMA as the co-organiser while Swinburne, UCTS, UiTM and Curtin as the associate organisers of the event.
