The Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences (FMHS), (Universiti Malaysia Sarawak) is proud to host the delegates from the Department of Disease Control (DDC), Ministry of Public Health (MoPH), Thailand from 25th to 26th September 2018. Their visit was led by Dr Ponchanok Rattanadilok Na Bhuket, the director of the Bureau of Communicable Disease, DDC, MoPH, Thailand and received by Assoc. Prof Dr Razitasham Safii and Dr Tan Cheng Siang from UNIMAS. This visit is the first official visit from the Ministry of Public Health, Thailand.Their visit objectives were to learn about the primary healthcare system and the One Health platform in Malaysia, specifically in Sarawak where geographical terrain can be a real health care challenge. They were briefed about the primary healthcare system in Sarawak, and visited a few other One Health partners in Kuching such as the State Health Department, Health Clinic Petra Jaya, State Department of Veterinary Service Sarawak, Sarawak Forest Department and Semenggoh Nature Reserve. Malaysia Nursing Board Exam (General Registration) was held at Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences, UNIMAS on 26 September 2018. This essential exam is one of obligatory requirements for any nursing graduates to obtain their license to practice safely and ethically. There were 47 year 4 nursing students (batch 2013/2014) enrolled for the exam. All the very best to all our nursing graduates!

The aim of this certification programme is to provide managerial level personnel (Managers,Supervisors, potential Supervisors, and Professional Level Staff) with skills and knowledge required to effectively carry out their responsibilities. The programme develops a personal awareness of the human resources, activities, and management issues involved in achieving results in a challenging and dynamic work environment.
The programme further focuses on developing skills through practical activities such as structured exercises, group discussions, and case studies. It concentrates on the leadership actions for developing a team but also includes the key management skills of decision making, problem solving, performance analysis, conflict management, motivation and presentation.
