Announcement: UNIMAS AHA Training Site Course Calendar 2018 (2^nd Half)

The UNIMAS American Heart Association (AHA) Training Site is pleased to announce its latest course offerings for the second half of 2018.

UNIMAS is an official training site that offers the following AHA Courses:

• Courses for Healthcare Professionals:
  • AHA Basic Life Support (BLS) Provider Course for Healthcare Providers
  • AHA Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) Provider Course
  • AHA Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) Provider Course
• Courses for Non-Medically Trained Personnel:
  • AHA Heartsaver® First Aid, CPR & AED Provider Course

Enrolled participants will receive the official AHA course package upon registration. Participants who successfully fulfill the assessment (written and skills testing) requirements of the course will be awarded with an AHA provider status which is internationally recognized and valid for 2-years.

All courses will be conducted by AHA certified instructors in the Clinical Simulation Centre, Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences, Universiti Malaysia Sarawak (UNIMAS), Kota Samarahan Campus. The training facility is fully equipped with simulators of varying fidelity levels to ensure our participants are fully immersed in the training programmes.

Program Iftar Ramadhan FEP 2018/1439H telah diadakan pada 24 Mei 2018 bertempat di Surau Abdul Rahman Auf, Aras G, Fakulti Ekonomi dan Perniagaan. KOTA SAMARAHAN, 29 April 2019 – Sebagai usaha menyemarakkan program membaca, Pusat Khidmat Maklumat Akademik telah mengambil inisiatif menganjurkan Program Cinta Ilmu selama dua hari bermula 29 April lepas sebagai menyokong Read@UNIMAS dan menarik minat membaca dan memupuk kecintaan kepada ilmu dalam kalangan warga UNIMAS.

Objektif program adalah untuk menyemarakkan semangat membaca dalam kalangan warga UNIMAS,memupuk kecintaan kepada ilmu pengetahuan, menggalakkan kempen menderma buku dalam kalangan warga UNIMAS serta meningkatkan kesedaran budaya membaca di kalangan masyarakat.

Antara aktiviti diadakan seperti gimik perasmian, Jom Baca 10 minit, Read Out Loud  yang dilakukan oleh tiga orang pelajar dari sekolah SK St. Martin, SK Empila dan SK Dato Mohd Musa Samarahan, persembahan nyanyian oleh Adik Sofia Arissa, Read and Write with Emerald, pameran dan jualan buku dan cenderahati, jualan makanan dan minuman (food truck)Yakub

Istimewanya Program Cinta Ilmu kali ini turut dihadiri oleh  Miss Planet International 2019, Cik Viviana Lin Watson,19, yang telah mewakili Malaysia ke peringkat antarabangsa untuk Miss Planet International pada 1 Mac 2019 di Cambodia dan telah merangkul anugerah 2nd runner up Miss Planet International 2019 bersandarkan minat membaca yang mendalam dan mempunyai pengetahuan am yang luas.

On the 23^rd of May 2017, Dr. Yanuar Z. Arief and his students organized a study visit to 275 kV Entingan Substation, Sarawak Energy Berhad, Kota Samarahan. This study visit is as part of High Voltage Technology subject activities. The main objective of this visit is to expose our student to the main function of high voltage substation in electrical power transmission system, its protection system including maintenance and safety requirement. There were 19 students participated in this event. The students have got detail explanation regarding such matter from SEB staff who are really professional, cooperative, and helpful during the visit. Through this visit the students also fell an industrial working experience which is useful for their professional career in the future. Many thanks to SEB for giving valuable opportunity to the student in this study visit.

Kota Samarahan,  30 August 2018: A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed between Universiti Malaysia Sarawak and Estream Software Sdn. Bhd, Malaysia with the aim of establishing a basis upon which UNIMAS and Estream may explore areas for cooperation and collaboration such as research, staff engagement, industrial study visits and student industrial placement.

This event was officiated by Ybhg Professor Datuk Dr Mohamad Kadim Suaidi as Vice-Chancellor, Universiti Malaysia Sarawak and Mr Desmond Law Hoe Yan, Managing Director of Estream Software Sdn. Bhd, Malaysia.

This event was witnessed by Dean of the Faculty of Economics and Business, Associate Professor Michael Tinggi and Ms Ong Bee Wei, the Education Advisor of Estream Software Sdn. Bhd., as well as Unimas staff and other invited guests.

The Memorandum of Understanding is in line with UNIMAS's vision of being an exemplary university through the pursuit of excellence in teaching, research and scholarship.
