On 24th February 2018, the team with one researcher, two co-researchers, and one research assistant went to visit primary school of Long Lamai. The purpose is to observe the school condition and environment, and get to know the teachers and students at the school. On 25th February 2018, we had a discussion with seven teachers at the school to know in-depth about the challenges and potential for STEM teaching and learning. The next day, we conducted a fun game session with teachers and students to capture the feedbacks and to evaluate the prototype of games. There were fifteen students (mixed of Year 4, 5 and 6) involved in the session. The overall outcome was positive and they enjoyed the game session. The aim of the session is to expose teachers and students about the benefits of games and play in the classroom. This affirmed the team to continue the project with the primary school at Long Lamai.

Unit Latihan & Media , Pusat Sukan dengan kerjasama Unit Latihan , Bahagian Pembangunan Modal Insan serta Persatuan Olahraga Sarawak akan menganjurkan Kursus Kepegawaian Teknikal Olahrga Gred 3, 2018 seperti butiran berikut : 

Tarikh : 12-13 Mac 2018 (Isnin & Selasa)

Masa : 8.00 pagi - 4.30 petang 

Tempat : Stadium UNIMAS

Seramai 43 orang peserta yang terdiri daripada staf Pusat Sukan dan staf-staf di UNIMAS telah mendaftar diri untuk menyertai kursus ini . Ia dikendalikan oleh pegawai daripada Persatuan Olahraga Sarawak . Para peserta akan menghadiri kursus ini selama 2 hari dan akan menduduki peperiksaan untuk Pegawai Teknikal Olahraga Gred 3 pada 7 April 2018 nanti yang akan dijalankan serentak di seluruh negara. Diharap dengan adanya kursus ini akan melahirkan pegawai-pegawai teknikal olahraga dalam kalangan staf UNIMAS bagi membantu mengendalikan acara olahraga di peringkat inter kolej, antara fakulti, antara universiti, negeri dan seterusnya untuk acara olahraga yang lebih besar. Selamat menjalani kursus Kepegawaian Teknikal Olahraga Gred 3 kepada semua peserta yang terlibat.

The Secretariat of Knowledge Transfer Programme (KTP) is inviting researchers to submit proposal  under the theme "Life Long Learning" for the third cycle for year 2018.

Detailed information and application form on KTP grants can be obtained either at ktc.usm.my or as per attachment. For those who are interested, please submit your completed application to UNIMAS Innovation through your respective Faculty/ Institute before 26 March 2018 to be vetted at expert panel level. Each university will then submit the best 3 projects to the KTP National Secretariat for their final evaluation and selection.

KOTA SAMARAHAN, 29 April 2019 – Sebagai usaha menyemarakkan program membaca, Pusat Khidmat Maklumat Akademik telah mengambil inisiatif menganjurkan Program Cinta Ilmu selama dua hari bermula 29 April lepas sebagai menyokong Read@UNIMAS dan menarik minat membaca dan memupuk kecintaan kepada ilmu dalam kalangan warga UNIMAS.

Objektif program adalah untuk menyemarakkan semangat membaca dalam kalangan warga UNIMAS,memupuk kecintaan kepada ilmu pengetahuan, menggalakkan kempen menderma buku dalam kalangan warga UNIMAS serta meningkatkan kesedaran budaya membaca di kalangan masyarakat.

Antara aktiviti diadakan seperti gimik perasmian, Jom Baca 10 minit, Read Out Loud  yang dilakukan oleh tiga orang pelajar dari sekolah SK St. Martin, SK Empila dan SK Dato Mohd Musa Samarahan, persembahan nyanyian oleh Adik Sofia Arissa, Read and Write with Emerald, pameran dan jualan buku dan cenderahati, jualan makanan dan minuman (food truck)Yakub

Istimewanya Program Cinta Ilmu kali ini turut dihadiri oleh  Miss Planet International 2019, Cik Viviana Lin Watson,19, yang telah mewakili Malaysia ke peringkat antarabangsa untuk Miss Planet International pada 1 Mac 2019 di Cambodia dan telah merangkul anugerah 2nd runner up Miss Planet International 2019 bersandarkan minat membaca yang mendalam dan mempunyai pengetahuan am yang luas.

Kontinjen UNIMAS telah berjaya meraih 1 emas dan 2 gangsa dalam Kejohanan Sukan Institusi Pengajian Tinggi (SUKIPT) edisi ke-4 yang diadakan pada 2-10 Februari 2018 bertempat di UKM, Bangi. Pingat emas telah dimenangi dalam sukan Boling Padang acara Women Pairs hasil gandingan mantap Nur Fithri Yaani Hamdin (FSS) 60055 dan Nabilah Nani (FEP) 50163. Mereka telah berjaya mengalahkan lawan daripada UPM dengan keputusan UNIMAS (9) UPM (4) di Komplek Sukan Lawn Bowls, Seremban 2. Manakala pingat gangsa pertama diperolehi melalui sukan tenis acara Perseorangan Wanita yang telah dimenangi oleh Cecelia Lai Yan Fei (K) 54529 yang telah tewas di peringkat Separuh Akhir. Pada edisi SUKIPT 2016 beliau telah mendapat pingat perak. Gangsa kedua UNIMAS adlah melalui sukan Boling Padang , tempat ke-3 Keseluruhan hasil gandingan pemain-pemain boling padang yang terdiri daripada Nur Fithri Yaani Hamdin (FSS) 60055, Nabilah Nani (FEP) 50163, Audrey Judi (FEP) 54508, Nur Hafisah Wan Md Yahya (FEP) 53183, Lim Zhen Yi (FEP) 52340 dan Diyana Abdul Hakim (FSS) 54572. Kota Samarahan,  30 August 2018: A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed between Universiti Malaysia Sarawak and Estream Software Sdn. Bhd, Malaysia with the aim of establishing a basis upon which UNIMAS and Estream may explore areas for cooperation and collaboration such as research, staff engagement, industrial study visits and student industrial placement.

This event was officiated by Ybhg Professor Datuk Dr Mohamad Kadim Suaidi as Vice-Chancellor, Universiti Malaysia Sarawak and Mr Desmond Law Hoe Yan, Managing Director of Estream Software Sdn. Bhd, Malaysia.

This event was witnessed by Dean of the Faculty of Economics and Business, Associate Professor Michael Tinggi and Ms Ong Bee Wei, the Education Advisor of Estream Software Sdn. Bhd., as well as Unimas staff and other invited guests.

The Memorandum of Understanding is in line with UNIMAS's vision of being an exemplary university through the pursuit of excellence in teaching, research and scholarship.
