Student Association Faculty of Engineering (SAFE) 2017/2018 organized a technical visit to Batang Ai Hydropower Station, Lubok Antu, Sri Aman. The event was held for 2 days and 1 night from 13th until 14th of February 2018. A total of 66 students including the member of Students Association Faculty of Engineering (SAFE) and 3 lecturers namely Dr. Nazeri Abdul Rahman, Deputy Dean Students Affairs and Alumni Faculty of Engineering, Dr Lidyana Roslan, SAFE Advisor, and Dr Raudhah Ahmadi, a senior lecturer from Civil department, participated in this program. This program was attended by engineering students ranging from Year 1 to Year 4 from various departments at Faculty of Engineering. All planned activities conducted been successfully implemented in which all participants joined. Through this visit, the students from Faculty of Engineering were exposed and aspired on the work scope and responsibility of an engineer as well as establishing relationships between students and their potential employers. Apart from that this program also provide the exposure to the students on hydropower generation as well as electricity power generation industry in Sarawak. Additionally, this program also strengthens the relationship between the lecturers and the students of Faculty of Engineering.

Date: 4 & 5 April 2018 (Wednesday & Thursday)
Time: 0900 - 1700 hrs
Venue: CTF1 (Room Seminar 4, 5 & 6)
We would like to refer to clause 10.1.2 of the Graduate Studies Regulation where it stated that the pre-requisite for a thesis to be submitted for examination is that the student has undergone and passed the Research Methodology course. So therefore, all new students are invited to attend this course.

KOTA SAMARAHAN, 29 April 2019 – Sebagai usaha menyemarakkan program membaca, Pusat Khidmat Maklumat Akademik telah mengambil inisiatif menganjurkan Program Cinta Ilmu selama dua hari bermula 29 April lepas sebagai menyokong Read@UNIMAS dan menarik minat membaca dan memupuk kecintaan kepada ilmu dalam kalangan warga UNIMAS.
Objektif program adalah untuk menyemarakkan semangat membaca dalam kalangan warga UNIMAS,memupuk kecintaan kepada ilmu pengetahuan, menggalakkan kempen menderma buku dalam kalangan warga UNIMAS serta meningkatkan kesedaran budaya membaca di kalangan masyarakat.
Antara aktiviti diadakan seperti gimik perasmian, Jom Baca 10 minit, Read Out Loud yang dilakukan oleh tiga orang pelajar dari sekolah SK St. Martin, SK Empila dan SK Dato Mohd Musa Samarahan, persembahan nyanyian oleh Adik Sofia Arissa, Read and Write with Emerald, pameran dan jualan buku dan cenderahati, jualan makanan dan minuman (food truck)Yakub
Istimewanya Program Cinta Ilmu kali ini turut dihadiri oleh Miss Planet International 2019, Cik Viviana Lin Watson,19, yang telah mewakili Malaysia ke peringkat antarabangsa untuk Miss Planet International pada 1 Mac 2019 di Cambodia dan telah merangkul anugerah 2nd runner up Miss Planet International 2019 bersandarkan minat membaca yang mendalam dan mempunyai pengetahuan am yang luas.

Seramai 12 orang pelajar Fakulti Kejuruteraan dari pelbagai tahun pengajian Jabatan Kejuruteraan Kimia dan Tenaga Sustainibiliti, Elektrikal dan Elektronik, dan Sivil telah menjalani aktiviti sukarelawan di SK Tanjong Bako, Kuching dengan bimbingan seorang pensyarah dari Fakulti Kejuruteraan sebagai penceramah untuk Program Motivasi Teknik Belajar dan Pengurusan Diri. Program ini telah dianjurkan oleh Persatuan Ibu Bapa dan Komuniti SK Tanjong Bako yang diadakan di Dewan Ibnu Khaldun, SK Tanjong Bako (YBA 1334) pada 10 Februari 2018. Kumpulan sukarelawan dari Fakulti Kejuruteraan ini diketuai oleh Dr Nazeri Abdul Rahman, Timbalan Dekan Hal Ehwal Pelajar dan Alumni, Fakulti Kejururuteaan, sementara para pelajar yang terlibat termasuklah Dayang Noor Azie binti Abang Zainal Abidin,Nor Liyana binti Yusop, Nur Afifah binti Tomiran, Nur Jihan Nazihah binti Amin, Ruckina dan Richard Kisil dari Tahun 4, Program Kejuruteraan Kimia serta Muhammad Nur Adib b. SUKAN SUKIPT 2018 (UKM, BANGI)
Kontinjen UNIMAS telah berjaya meraih 1 emas dan 2 gangsa dalam Kejohanan Sukan Institusi Pengajian Tinggi (SUKIPT) edisi ke-4 yang diadakan pada 2-10 Februari 2018 bertempat di UKM, Bangi. Pingat emas telah dimenangi dalam sukan Boling Padang acara Women Pairs hasil gandingan mantap Nur Fithri Yaani Hamdin (FSS) 60055 dan Nabilah Nani (FEP) 50163. Mereka telah berjaya mengalahkan lawan daripada UPM dengan keputusan UNIMAS (9) UPM (4) di Komplek Sukan Lawn Bowls, Seremban 2. Manakala pingat gangsa pertama diperolehi melalui sukan tenis acara Perseorangan Wanita yang telah dimenangi oleh Cecelia Lai Yan Fei (K) 54529 yang telah tewas di peringkat Separuh Akhir. Pada edisi SUKIPT 2016 beliau telah mendapat pingat perak. Gangsa kedua UNIMAS adlah melalui sukan Boling Padang , tempat ke-3 Keseluruhan hasil gandingan pemain-pemain boling padang yang terdiri daripada Nur Fithri Yaani Hamdin (FSS) 60055, Nabilah Nani (FEP) 50163, Audrey Judi (FEP) 54508, Nur Hafisah Wan Md Yahya (FEP) 53183, Lim Zhen Yi (FEP) 52340 dan Diyana Abdul Hakim (FSS) 54572. Tahniah dan syabas diucapkan kepada semua pemenang dan Kontinjen UNIMAS .

Kota Samarahan, 30 August 2018: A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed between Universiti Malaysia Sarawak and Estream Software Sdn. Bhd, Malaysia with the aim of establishing a basis upon which UNIMAS and Estream may explore areas for cooperation and collaboration such as research, staff engagement, industrial study visits and student industrial placement.
This event was officiated by Ybhg Professor Datuk Dr Mohamad Kadim Suaidi as Vice-Chancellor, Universiti Malaysia Sarawak and Mr Desmond Law Hoe Yan, Managing Director of Estream Software Sdn. Bhd, Malaysia.
This event was witnessed by Dean of the Faculty of Economics and Business, Associate Professor Michael Tinggi and Ms Ong Bee Wei, the Education Advisor of Estream Software Sdn. Bhd., as well as Unimas staff and other invited guests.
The Memorandum of Understanding is in line with UNIMAS's vision of being an exemplary university through the pursuit of excellence in teaching, research and scholarship.
