Announcement: UNIMAS AHA Training Site Course Calendar 2018 (2^nd Half)

The UNIMAS American Heart Association (AHA) Training Site is pleased to announce its latest course offerings for the second half of 2018.

UNIMAS is an official training site that offers the following AHA Courses:

• Courses for Healthcare Professionals:
  • AHA Basic Life Support (BLS) Provider Course for Healthcare Providers
  • AHA Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) Provider Course
  • AHA Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) Provider Course
• Courses for Non-Medically Trained Personnel:
  • AHA Heartsaver® First Aid, CPR & AED Provider Course

Enrolled participants will receive the official AHA course package upon registration. Participants who successfully fulfill the assessment (written and skills testing) requirements of the course will be awarded with an AHA provider status which is internationally recognized and valid for 2-years.

All courses will be conducted by AHA certified instructors in the Clinical Simulation Centre, Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences, Universiti Malaysia Sarawak (UNIMAS), Kota Samarahan Campus. The training facility is fully equipped with simulators of varying fidelity levels to ensure our participants are fully immersed in the training programmes.

Borneo Border Crossing Program 2018 (RSB) was organized by Universiti Malaysia Sabah (UMS) in collaboration with Universiti Malaysia Sarawak (UNIMAS) and Universiti Putra Malaysia Kampus Bintulu (UPMKB). The program is a mission to bring university students with the community through the corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) of the university through a land-based challenge that will cover 2,500 km journey.

According to Prof. Madya Dr. Saafie Salleh, Chairman of RSB 2018, the program aims to provide charitable and community services to the village community. Among the activities carried out are health screening, telematch, academic promotion, coloring and khat competition, cultural performances such as dance and singing, and lore activities with the village community and so on.

The objectives of the conference are as follows:

1. To promote and disseminate scientific research in the social, biological and medical sciences in Borneo;

2. To enable the research community, public, interested Borneo government departments, and others to keep abreast of ongoing research and its results;

3. To serve as a vehicle for drawing attention to urgent research and its results;

4. To provide a forum for the flow of information on Borneo research arising from many diverse sources;

The Conference will be held on campus at Detar Putra, Universiti Malaysia Sarawak, Kota Samarahan, Sarawak, Malaysia.

KOTA SAMARAHAN, 29 April 2019 – Sebagai usaha menyemarakkan program membaca, Pusat Khidmat Maklumat Akademik telah mengambil inisiatif menganjurkan Program Cinta Ilmu selama dua hari bermula 29 April lepas sebagai menyokong Read@UNIMAS dan menarik minat membaca dan memupuk kecintaan kepada ilmu dalam kalangan warga UNIMAS.

Objektif program adalah untuk menyemarakkan semangat membaca dalam kalangan warga UNIMAS,memupuk kecintaan kepada ilmu pengetahuan, menggalakkan kempen menderma buku dalam kalangan warga UNIMAS serta meningkatkan kesedaran budaya membaca di kalangan masyarakat.

Antara aktiviti diadakan seperti gimik perasmian, Jom Baca 10 minit, Read Out Loud  yang dilakukan oleh tiga orang pelajar dari sekolah SK St. Martin, SK Empila dan SK Dato Mohd Musa Samarahan, persembahan nyanyian oleh Adik Sofia Arissa, Read and Write with Emerald, pameran dan jualan buku dan cenderahati, jualan makanan dan minuman (food truck)Yakub

Istimewanya Program Cinta Ilmu kali ini turut dihadiri oleh  Miss Planet International 2019, Cik Viviana Lin Watson,19, yang telah mewakili Malaysia ke peringkat antarabangsa untuk Miss Planet International pada 1 Mac 2019 di Cambodia dan telah merangkul anugerah 2nd runner up Miss Planet International 2019 bersandarkan minat membaca yang mendalam dan mempunyai pengetahuan am yang luas.

Kuching, 8 November 2018: Lodge National Secondary School mencatat sejarah apabila berjaya menganjurkan STEM Expo & Seminar yang bertajuk A Day In Science 2018. Program dijayakan dengan kerjasama Bahagian Keterlibatan Industri dan Transformasi Komuniti (UNIMAS ENGAGE) dan Lodge School Negeri Sarawak dan berjaya menarik penyertaan 25 buah sekolah dan 300 pelajar di sekitar Kuching dan Serian. Majlis dirasmikan oleh Profesor Ir. Dr Al-Khalid Haji Othman yang merupakan Timbalan Ketua Saintis di Sarawak Multimedia Authority (SMA). Di samping itu beliau turut menyampaikan ceramah kepada para pelajar yang hadir ke program ini. Turut hadir untuk menyampaikan ceramah ialah Profesor Madya Dr Ramlah Zainuddin mengenai A Talk On Google Classroom for Teachers. Program berimpak tinggi ini juga telah berjaya menampilkan 36 penyertaan pameran daripada pelbagai fakulti daripada Universiti Malaysia Sarawak (UNIMAS). Antaranya ialah Fakulti Kejuruteraan (STEM TEAM dan ROBOTIC TEAM), Fakulti Sains Kognitif dan Pembangunan Manusia, Fakulti Sains Komputer dan Teknologi Maklumat, Fakulti Sains dan Teknologi Sumber, Fakulti Perubatan dan Sains Kesihatan dan Pusat Pengajian Pra-Universiti.
