Announcement: UNIMAS AHA Training Site Course Calendar 2018 (2nd Half)
The UNIMAS American Heart Association (AHA) Training Site is pleased to announce its latest course offerings for the second half of 2018.
UNIMAS is an official training site that offers the following AHA Courses:
- Courses for Healthcare Professionals:
- Courses for Non-Medically Trained Personnel:
Enrolled participants will receive the official AHA course package upon registration. Participants who successfully fulfill the assessment (written and skills testing) requirements of the course will be awarded with an AHA provider status which is internationally recognized and valid for 2-years.
All courses will be conducted by AHA certified instructors in the Clinical Simulation Centre, Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences, Universiti Malaysia Sarawak (UNIMAS), Kota Samarahan Campus. The training facility is fully equipped with simulators of varying fidelity levels to ensure our participants are fully immersed in the training programmes.

Theme: Translating the Past/ Envisioning the Future
Objectives
The objectives of the conference are as follows:
1. To promote and disseminate scientific research in the social, biological and medical sciences in Borneo;
2. To enable the research community, public, interested Borneo government departments, and others to keep abreast of ongoing research and its results;
3. To serve as a vehicle for drawing attention to urgent research and its results;
4. To provide a forum for the flow of information on Borneo research arising from many diverse sources;
Venue
The Conference will be held on campus at Detar Putra, Universiti Malaysia Sarawak, Kota Samarahan, Sarawak, Malaysia.
Session Themes and Panels
This will be a multidisciplinary conference dealing specifically with Borneo, with plenary sessions and sessions devoted to special topics and panels including but not limited to the following fields:

Faculty of Engineering, UNIMAS: On 16th October 2018, Students Section of IEM-SAFE, Faculty of Engineering, have organised an Opening Ceremony in conjunction with Engineering Week 2018 which was held at Students Pavilion Hall, UNIMAS. In this programme, welcoming speech was delivered the program director of E week, Ghazali bin Ishak (President IEM-SAFE 2018/2019) which was then followed by the Dean of Faculty of Engineering, Associate Prof. Ir Dr Siti Noor Linda Bt Taib. The opening speech has been done by none other YBhg Prof. Datuk Mohd Fadzil Abdul Rahman, Deputy vice-chancellor (Student Affairs and Alumni) UNIMAS. In addition, a total of 35 students and 10 teachers including the headmaster from SK Semerah Padi was invited. In the evening, a side programme called “Tautan Kasih IEM(UNIMAS)-Sk Semerah Padi was held. IEM-SAFE adopted school was brought touring the four engineering departments and their respective laboratories at Faculty of Engineering. Four experiments have been demonstrated and prepared by Faculty of Engineering Association of Chemical Engineering (FACES) at Chemical Engineering department lobby. Majlis Konvokesyen UNIMAS ke-22 akan diadakan di DeTAR PUTRA, UNIMAS selama 3 hari mulai 29 hingga 31 Oktober 2018. Festival Konvokesyen atau lebih dikenali sebagai ConFest yang diadakan pada setiap tahun sempena Majlis Konvokesyen UNIMAS, bertujuan untuk memeriahkan sambutan Majlis Konvokesyen. Sehubungan itu dilampirkan jadual program ConFest 2018 untuk makluman bersama warga UNIMAS.
Untuk makluman juga Perasmian Festival Konvokesyen @ ConFest 2018 akan diadakan pada 27 Oktober 2018 (Sabtu) bermula jam 7.30 malam bertempat di Pentas Utama UNIMAS. Semua warga UNIMAS adalah dijemput untuk sama-sama menyaksikan Malam Citrawarna dan memeriahkan lagi majlis perasmian tersebut.
Aktiviti-aktiviti ConFest2018 juga telah bermula sejak 19 Oktober sehingga 3 November 2018. Turut dilampirkan beberapa poster untuk rujukan bersama. Keterangan lanjut mengenai Confest2018 juga boleh dirujuk di laman rasmi Facebook UNIMASofficial atau UNIMAS Convocation Festival-Confest.

KOTA SAMARAHAN, 29 April 2019 – Sebagai usaha menyemarakkan program membaca, Pusat Khidmat Maklumat Akademik telah mengambil inisiatif menganjurkan Program Cinta Ilmu selama dua hari bermula 29 April lepas sebagai menyokong Read@UNIMAS dan menarik minat membaca dan memupuk kecintaan kepada ilmu dalam kalangan warga UNIMAS.
Objektif program adalah untuk menyemarakkan semangat membaca dalam kalangan warga UNIMAS,memupuk kecintaan kepada ilmu pengetahuan, menggalakkan kempen menderma buku dalam kalangan warga UNIMAS serta meningkatkan kesedaran budaya membaca di kalangan masyarakat.
Antara aktiviti diadakan seperti gimik perasmian, Jom Baca 10 minit, Read Out Loud yang dilakukan oleh tiga orang pelajar dari sekolah SK St. Martin, SK Empila dan SK Dato Mohd Musa Samarahan, persembahan nyanyian oleh Adik Sofia Arissa, Read and Write with Emerald, pameran dan jualan buku dan cenderahati, jualan makanan dan minuman (food truck)Yakub
Istimewanya Program Cinta Ilmu kali ini turut dihadiri oleh Miss Planet International 2019, Cik Viviana Lin Watson,19, yang telah mewakili Malaysia ke peringkat antarabangsa untuk Miss Planet International pada 1 Mac 2019 di Cambodia dan telah merangkul anugerah 2nd runner up Miss Planet International 2019 bersandarkan minat membaca yang mendalam dan mempunyai pengetahuan am yang luas.
