The Institute of Social Informatics and Technological Innovations (ISITI) recently hosted a visit from the Brunei Darussalam Indonesia Malaysia Philippines – East ASEAN Growth Area (BIMP-EAGA) ICT Cluster at Universiti Malaysia Sarawak (UNIMAS). The international delegates from BIMP-EAGA were in UNIMAS as part of their technical visit in Sarawak.

Through this visit, the delegates from BIMP-EAGA were able to learn about the research facilities and achievements in Sarawak as well as the various projects that have been conducted in the state. ISITI showcased some of the research endeavours that have been conducted at the institute over the years, highlighting the innovative use of ICTs in all the projects during the session with the delegates at UNIMAS. Some of the projects that were highlighted included the evolution of the globally recognised eBario project, which has moved from being established first as a community telecenter project to being rebranded to become a sustainable innovation research center for the community in Bario. The replication of the eBario model in other research sites all over Malaysia, current innovations and ICT research and awareness programmes in Sarawak was also discussed during the knowledge sharing session with the ISITI and UNIMAS teams and the BIMP-EAGA ...

Cetusan Inspirasi Pelajar Tahun Akhir atau CIPTA merupakan acara tahunan pelajar tahun akhir di Fakulti Seni Gunaan dan Kreatif yang telah dihasil daripada penyelidikan dan Projek Tahun Akhir pelajar. Penyelidikan dan projek yang dipamerkan telah menunjukkan kemantapan idea, proses penyelidikan dan aplikasi serta penggunaan media dan teknik terkini yang bersesuaian dengan produk dan karya masing-masing.

Acara ini berbentuk akademik dan berpotensi untuk memberi pendedahkan kepada pelajar terhadap aspek penganjuran CIPTA itu sendiri serta membentuk semangat kolektif dan bertanggungjawab di kalangan pelajar yang terlibat. Di samping itu, CIPTA juga memberikan peluang kepada produk dan hasil karya keatif para pelajar untuk diketengahkan dan diperkenalkan kepada khalayak umum dan industri secara tidak langsung mendedahkan kebolehan yang dimiliki oleh pelajar kepada kumpulan sasaran.

ICDES a joint effort between the Departments of Development Studies and Anthropology at the Faculty of Social Sciences, Universiti Malaysia Sarawak focuses on the exploration and assessment of the relationships between development, society and environment. ICDES aims to promote collaboration of cross-disciplinary research by providing an excellent opportunity to disseminate, share and discuss ideas towards an inclusive and sustainable development. ICDES also offer workshops, designed and led by expertise on Geographical Information System (GIS), Environmental and Social Impact Assessment (ESIA) and Community Engagement.

OBJECTIVES

Kota Samarahan, 22 Mei 2017 – Majlis Penyerahan Sumbangan Gawai 2017 berlangsung di Auditorium Pusat Khidmat Maklumat Akademik,  Sumbangan telah disampaikan oleh Timbalan Naib Canselor, Hal Ehwal Pelajar and Alumni UNIMAS, YBhg Profesor Mohd Fadzil bin Abd Rahman

Majlis ini merupakan program tahunan yang dikelolakan oleh Persatuan Wanita Universiti Malaysia Sarawak (MASNITA) bertujuan antaranya untuk memupuk semangat toleransi dalam kalangan ahli serta mengeratkan tali persaudaraan kepada golongan yang memerlukan dan kurang berkemampuan. Sumbangan Gawai ini telah disampaikan kepada 10 orang pelajar UNIMAS yang terpilih.

Hadir bersama adalah Setiausaha Kehormat MASNITA, Pn Laila Abg Ahmad yang mewakili YDP MASNITA iaitu Datin Kartini Ahmad.  Majlis penyampaian sumbangan ini juga turut dihadiri oleh beberapa AJK MASNITA yang lain.

KOTA SAMARAHAN, 29 April 2019 – Sebagai usaha menyemarakkan program membaca, Pusat Khidmat Maklumat Akademik telah mengambil inisiatif menganjurkan Program Cinta Ilmu selama dua hari bermula 29 April lepas sebagai menyokong Read@UNIMAS dan menarik minat membaca dan memupuk kecintaan kepada ilmu dalam kalangan warga UNIMAS.

Objektif program adalah untuk menyemarakkan semangat membaca dalam kalangan warga UNIMAS,memupuk kecintaan kepada ilmu pengetahuan, menggalakkan kempen menderma buku dalam kalangan warga UNIMAS serta meningkatkan kesedaran budaya membaca di kalangan masyarakat.

Antara aktiviti diadakan seperti gimik perasmian, Jom Baca 10 minit, Read Out Loud  yang dilakukan oleh tiga orang pelajar dari sekolah SK St. Martin, SK Empila dan SK Dato Mohd Musa Samarahan, persembahan nyanyian oleh Adik Sofia Arissa, Read and Write with Emerald, pameran dan jualan buku dan cenderahati, jualan makanan dan minuman (food truck)Yakub

Istimewanya Program Cinta Ilmu kali ini turut dihadiri oleh  Miss Planet International 2019, Cik Viviana Lin Watson,19, yang telah mewakili Malaysia ke peringkat antarabangsa untuk Miss Planet International pada 1 Mac 2019 di Cambodia dan telah merangkul anugerah 2nd runner up Miss Planet International 2019 bersandarkan minat membaca yang mendalam dan mempunyai pengetahuan am yang luas.

KOTA SAMARAHAN, 22^nd May 2017: 10^th  UNIMAS Research and Development Expo 2017 or known as Innovation and Technology Expo (InTEX17) was held on 18^th May 2017 in Universiti Malaysia Sarawak. It was a day for researchers of Universiti Malaysia Sarawak (UNIMAS) to shine at the expo as they competed for the title of Best R&D product.

The event was organized by UNIMAS INNOVATION with the theme of “Strengthening Research and Innovation for Communities Sustainability”. InTEX17 this year is also one of the event which is organized in line with the celebration of 25th Silver Jubilee UNIMAS.

311 innovative and creative products from different fields of research which are clustered into social science and humanities, technology and engineering, pure and applied science  and information and communication technology were showcased.
