Kota Samarahan, 15th May 2017 - The Financial Technology Enabler Group (FTEG) conducted a FinTech Hacks session at Universiti Malaysia Sarawak (UNIMAS) recently at the Centre of Academic Information Services (CAIS) Auditorium.

The three hours  session was attended by 50 students from various undergraduate programs in UNIMAS and it is a part of Bank Negara (through FTEG) initiative to identify pain points in the delivery and consumption of financial services.

FTEG was established by Bank Negara Malaysia (BNM) in June 2016 and acts as a cross-functional committee responsible for formulating and enhancing regulatory policies to facilitate the adoption of technological innovations in the Malaysian financial services industry.

Chaired by Encik Aznan Abdul Aziz, Director of the Financial Sector Development Department, it serves as BNM’s dedicated contact point for fintech related queries including on regulatory matters related to the adoption of fintech in the financial services industry.

Fintech, short form for financial technology, refers to computer programs and other technology used to support or enable banking and financial services.

Close to 50 students from various undergraduate programs in UNIMAS attended the 3 hours session.

ICDES a joint effort between the Departments of Development Studies and Anthropology at the Faculty of Social Sciences, Universiti Malaysia Sarawak focuses on the exploration and assessment of the relationships between development, society and environment. KOTA SAMARAHAN, 29 April 2019 – Sebagai usaha menyemarakkan program membaca, Pusat Khidmat Maklumat Akademik telah mengambil inisiatif menganjurkan Program Cinta Ilmu selama dua hari bermula 29 April lepas sebagai menyokong Read@UNIMAS dan menarik minat membaca dan memupuk kecintaan kepada ilmu dalam kalangan warga UNIMAS.

Objektif program adalah untuk menyemarakkan semangat membaca dalam kalangan warga UNIMAS,memupuk kecintaan kepada ilmu pengetahuan, menggalakkan kempen menderma buku dalam kalangan warga UNIMAS serta meningkatkan kesedaran budaya membaca di kalangan masyarakat.

Antara aktiviti diadakan seperti gimik perasmian, Jom Baca 10 minit, Read Out Loud  yang dilakukan oleh tiga orang pelajar dari sekolah SK St. Martin, SK Empila dan SK Dato Mohd Musa Samarahan, persembahan nyanyian oleh Adik Sofia Arissa, Read and Write with Emerald, pameran dan jualan buku dan cenderahati, jualan makanan dan minuman (food truck)Yakub

Istimewanya Program Cinta Ilmu kali ini turut dihadiri oleh  Miss Planet International 2019, Cik Viviana Lin Watson,19, yang telah mewakili Malaysia ke peringkat antarabangsa untuk Miss Planet International pada 1 Mac 2019 di Cambodia dan telah merangkul anugerah 2nd runner up Miss Planet International 2019 bersandarkan minat membaca yang mendalam dan mempunyai pengetahuan am yang luas.
