Signing ceremony of MoU between UNIMAS and Beijing Wuzi University

Kota Samarahan, 31 May 2019: Universiti Malaysia Sarawak (UNIMAS) created another milestone in making its visibility at the global scene when a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between the UNIMAS and Beijing Wuzi University, China, was signed in a simple ceremony at Rumah Universiti, this morning.

The MoU document was signed by UNIMAS Vice Chancellor Professor Datuk Dr Kadim Suaidi and Vice President Beijing Wuzi University, Professor He Mingke and witnessed by Deputy Vice Chancellor (Academic and International) UNIMAS, Professor Dr.Ahmad Hata Rasit and Vice Dean School of Economics Beijing Wuzi University, Professor Yuan Lingling.

Also present at this event was Minister for Local Government and Housing Sarawak, Datuk Dr. Sim Kui Hian.

UNIMAS Vice Chancellor, Professor Datuk Dr Kadim said academic and research collaboration between the two universities will help to elevate the level of expertise among researchers and academicians.

He added that the MoU will also benefit the students as it will give them the opportunity to enrich their knowledge and experience by participating in future programs organized by both parties.

“ The MoU will help both universities to create new breed of trans-boundary working culture that will contribute to innovation and knowledge creation among academicians, researchers and students.

“ It’s also in line with UNIMAS's vision of being an exemplary university through the pursuit of excellence in teaching, research and scholarship,” he added.

The goals of the MoU are to initiate joint projects involving collaborative exchange program for students, lecturers, researchers to conduct joint research, teaching and support continuing education, to collaborate in organizing joint research, traineeships, inspection and communication programme for students and graduates, co-operate in international seminars and conferences and any other areas of co-operation to be mutually agreed upon by the Parties from time to time.
