“Certified Diabetic Wound Care Nurse”
Nine Year 4 students from Nursing Faculty have been attached to Pontianak, Indonesia from 17th Oct to 12th Nov 2016 for partial fulfillment of MDJ 4364 Nursing Elective (mobility program) under the Unimas International Office. We had one week lectures at Sekolah Tinggi Ilmu Keperawatan Muhammadiyah (STIK), Pontianak and two weeks clinical posting in Kitamura Clinic. The objectives of this program are to be exposed to diabetic wound care management and also other type of wound care management in Indonesia as well as to conducted an Innovative Project.
Throughout this student exchange program, the group managed to learn a lot of new things that are taught differently in Malaysia. The technique and the products used to treat the diabetic wound in Indonesia are very different to that done in Malaysia. Hopefully the knowledge they learned would beneficial help them when they faced patients with diabetics wound in the future.
