Announcement: UNIMAS AHA Training Site Course Calendar 2018 (2nd Half)
The UNIMAS American Heart Association (AHA) Training Site is pleased to announce its latest course offerings for the second half of 2018.
UNIMAS is an official training site that offers the following AHA Courses:
- Courses for Healthcare Professionals:
- Courses for Non-Medically Trained Personnel:
Enrolled participants will receive the official AHA course package upon registration. Participants who successfully fulfill the assessment (written and skills testing) requirements of the course will be awarded with an AHA provider status which is internationally recognized and valid for 2-years.
All courses will be conducted by AHA certified instructors in the Clinical Simulation Centre, Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences, Universiti Malaysia Sarawak (UNIMAS), Kota Samarahan Campus. The training facility is fully equipped with simulators of varying fidelity levels to ensure our participants are fully immersed in the training programmes.

Tanjung Datu National Park –Samunsam Wildlife Sanctuary Marine and Coastal Resources Expedition: Biodiversity Conservation and Sustainable Utilisation
AQUAColl merupakan satu kolokium akuatik bersiri yang dianjurkan oleh Program Sains Akuatik, Fakulti Sains dan Teknologi Sumber (FSTS) UNIMAS. AQUAColl 2019 yang bakal diadakan pada 10 Oktober 2019 adalah AQUAColl siri ke-lima yang dianjurkan oleh Program Sains Akuatik, Fakulti Sains dan Teknologi Sumber (FSTS) UNIMAS bersama dengan Sarawak Forestry Corporation (SFC). Tujuan AQUAColl 2019 dianjurkan adalah untuk menbentang dan menerbitkan hasil-hasil penyelidikan dari Ekspedisi Saintifik “Tanjung Datu National Park –Samunsam Wildlife Sanctuary Marine and Coastal Resources Expedition: Biodiversity Conservation and Sustainable Utilisation”, satu projek anjuran bersama Program Sains Akuatik, Fakulti Sains dan Teknologi Sumber (FSTS) UNIMAS dan Sarawak Forestry Corporation (SFC) pada tahun 2018. Ekspedisi ini adalah salah satu usaha pembangunan “Tanjung Datu-Santubong Marine and Coastal Conservation Master Plan” oleh Sarawak Forestry Corporation.
Ekspedisi yang sama juga telah berjaya dilakukan pada tahun 2012 antara dua pihak yang dinamakan “Marine Wildlife Expedition at the Pulau Sampadi”. Penemuan saintifik daripada ekspedisi tersebut telah dibentangkan dalam Third Aquatic Science Colloquium pada tahun 2014 (AQUAColl 2014). SIBU, 7 – 9 September: A total of 15 teachers from Woodlands International School participated in the Digital Makerspace workshop, organised by the UNIMAS Faculty of Computer Science and Information Technology (FCSIT). The training was conducted as part of the school’s initiative to establish a Digital Makerspace centre by collaborating with UNIMAS.
Led by FCSIT Deputy Dean of Commercialisation, Industry & Community Collaboration Dr Sze San Nah, the workshop aims to train teachers in managing digital devices and to provide them with ideas on learning activities in the Digital Makerspace.
A makerspace is an informal learning space with the objective to nurture the creativity, problem solving skill, and technology of children while working on projects. This is part of the school’s initiative to provide the students with 21st Century Skills which is essential in the age of the Internet, and in line with the Sarawak State Digital Economy Initiative. The UNIMAS team assisted the school by designing a co-working space and providing technology that can nurture students in becoming digital makers.
