Baru baru ini UNIMAS telah dipilih sebagai tuan rumah penganjuran Majlis Anugerah MAPIM-KPM 2018. Majlis ini telah diadakan dengan jayanya di Hotel Marriot, Putrajaya pada 27 Jun 2019 yang lepas. Selaku tuan rumah, UNIMAS telah menampilkan tema budaya negeri Sarawak .

Majlis Anugerah MAPIM-KPM ini diadakan setiap tahun dengan tujuan memberi pengiktirafan kepada para karyawan dan penerbit di Malaysia. Majlis ini merupakan majlis anugerah berprestij tertinggi peringkat kebangsaan bagi mengiktiraf hasil karya ilmiah, penulis, editor dan pereka dalam kalangan ahli MAPIM. Tahun ini adalah penganjuran yang ke 12 dan mengiktiraf hasil karya terbitan 2018.

Selain itu Majlis Penerbitan Ilmiah Malaysia (MAPIM) adalah sebuah badan yang bergiat aktif dalam pembangunan bidang penerbitan ilmiah dan saintifik. Ahlinya terdiri daripada semua penerbit Institusi Pengajian Tinggi Awam (IPTA), pusat penyelidikan di Malaysia dan Dewan Bahasa dan Pustaka (DBP).

Sebanyak enam kategori telah dipertandingkan iaitu :

(1) Buku Ilmiah Terbaik,

(2) Buku Ilmiah Umum Terbaik,

(3) Karya Suntingan Terbaik,

(4) Editor Naskhah Terbaik,

(5) Makalah Jurnal Terbaik dan

(6) Reka Bentuk Buku Terbaik.

KOTA SAMARAHAN, 5^th July 2019: Publication of papers in the indexed or high impact journals by the postgraduate student is fundamental as they represent a special population within the research and intellectual community. In most universities, postgraduate students are required to publish research papers and co-authored by their supervisor(s). Determining authorship credit can be difficult and it can complicate the supervisor-student relationship. Therefore, this issue deserves further exploration and students indeed should not be forced to co-author their papers with their supervisors.

All requirements pertaining to the research will be clearly explained and made explicit including the authorship of publications during the initial stage of graduate study supervision between the supervisor and student. In addition, the roles of a supervisor(s) must be clarified in the Graduate Study Regulations.

To foster a trusting learning environment, it is the responsibility of the supervisor to involve the students in the academic integrity exercise.
