Announcement: UNIMAS AHA Training Site Course Calendar 2018 (2^nd Half)

The UNIMAS American Heart Association (AHA) Training Site is pleased to announce its latest course offerings for the second half of 2018.

UNIMAS is an official training site that offers the following AHA Courses:

• Courses for Healthcare Professionals:
  • AHA Basic Life Support (BLS) Provider Course for Healthcare Providers
  • AHA Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) Provider Course
  • AHA Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) Provider Course
• Courses for Non-Medically Trained Personnel:
  • AHA Heartsaver® First Aid, CPR & AED Provider Course

Enrolled participants will receive the official AHA course package upon registration. Participants who successfully fulfill the assessment (written and skills testing) requirements of the course will be awarded with an AHA provider status which is internationally recognized and valid for 2-years.

All courses will be conducted by AHA certified instructors in the Clinical Simulation Centre, Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences, Universiti Malaysia Sarawak (UNIMAS), Kota Samarahan Campus. The training facility is fully equipped with simulators of varying fidelity levels to ensure our participants are fully immersed in the training programmes.

Objectives

The objectives of the conference are as follows:

1. To promote and disseminate scientific research in the social, biological and medical sciences in Borneo;

2. To enable the research community, public, interested Borneo government departments, and others to keep abreast of ongoing research and its results;

3. To serve as a vehicle for drawing attention to urgent research and its results;

4. To provide a forum for the flow of information on Borneo research arising from many diverse sources;

The Conference will be held on campus at Detar Putra, Universiti Malaysia Sarawak, Kota Samarahan, Sarawak, Malaysia.

Session Themes and Panels

This will be a multidisciplinary conference dealing specifically with Borneo, with plenary sessions and sessions devoted to special topics and panels including but not limited to the following fields:

          Kementerian Tenaga, Sains, Teknologi, Alam Sekitar dan Perubahan Iklim (MESTECC) telah menerima pelawaan daripada Centre for Science and Technology of the Non-Aligned and Other Developing Countries( NAM S&T Centre) untuk menyertai Joint NAM S&T Centre - Zmt Bremen (Germany) Fellowship in "Tropical Coastal Marine Research": Call For Applications For 2019 anjuran bersama NAM S&T Centre dan Leibniz Centre for Tropical Marine Research (ZMT), Bremen, Germany.

        Program Fellowship ini akan berlangsung selama 3 bulan dan bidang penyelidikan yang menjadi keutamaan adalah bidang Ecology, Biogeochemistry, Geology, Theoretical Ecology dan Modelling, Social Sciences danTropical Coastal Marine Systems.

          Borang permohonan serta dokumen sokongan yang berkaitan kepada dihantar kepada nurulahernesto@mestecc.gov.my dan haslinda@mestecc.gov.my selewat-lewatnya pada 24 Mei 2019 (Jumaat), bagi tujuan pengesahan oleh MESTECC selaku Focal Point NAM S&T Centre di Malaysia.

         Calon yang berjaya dipilih oleh NAM S&T Centre, perbelanjaan penerbangan pergi-balik adalah ditanggung oleh NAM S&T Centre manakala pihak ZMT BREMEN akan memberikan elaun bulanan sebanyak € 1250 bagi menanggung kos penginapan, makan-minum dan lain-lain untuk tempoh 3 bulan.

Kuching, 23 Mei 2019: Seramai lebih 200 orang asnaf dan miskin bersama keluarga masing-masing dari empat buah kampung diraikan dalam satu Program Kasih Insani UNIMAS bersama masyarakat yang dianjurkan oleh Bahagian Endowmen dan Wakaf, Universiti Malaysia Sarawak bekerjasama dengan Kelab Sukan dan Rekreasi, Pustaka Negeri Sarawak, kelmarin.

Golongan asnaf dan miskin yang dipilih adalah dari empat buah kampung di sekitar Petra Jaya iaitu Kampung Semariang Batu, Kampung Lintang, Kampung Sungai Bedil Besar dan Kampung Siol Kandis telah dijemput hadir.

Melalui program ini, setiap keluarga diagihkan pakej makanan percuma dan bebas memilih pakaian-pakaian percuma, buku bacaan kanak-kanak, agihan bubur lambuk, duit raya kanak-kanak dan seterusnya berbuka puasa bersama-sama. Di samping untuk berkongsi kegembiraan, majlis ini juga bertujuan untuk menjalinkan silaturrahim yang baik di kalangan semua pihak yang terlibat.

Seramai 20 rakan filantropi UNIMAS telah menyumbangkan derma melalui Tabung Endowmen UNIMAS pada tahun lepas dan 5% daripada sumbangan mereka dimanfaatkan untuk menyediakan pakej makanan “Box of Love” kepada golongan miskin.
