The UNIMAS American Heart Association (AHA) Training Site is pleased to announce its latest course offerings for the second half of 2018.

UNIMAS is an official training site that offers the following AHA Courses:

• Courses for Healthcare Professionals:
  • AHA Basic Life Support (BLS) Provider Course for Healthcare Providers
  • AHA Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) Provider Course
  • AHA Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) Provider Course
• Courses for Non-Medically Trained Personnel:
  • AHA Heartsaver® First Aid, CPR & AED Provider Course

Enrolled participants will receive the official AHA course package upon registration. Participants who successfully fulfill the assessment (written and skills testing) requirements of the course will be awarded with an AHA provider status which is internationally recognized and valid for 2-years.

All courses will be conducted by AHA certified instructors in the Clinical Simulation Centre, Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences, Universiti Malaysia Sarawak (UNIMAS), Kota Samarahan Campus. The training facility is fully equipped with simulators of varying fidelity levels to ensure our participants are fully immersed in the training programmes.

Seramai dua puluh tujuh (27) pelajar Program Seni Halus (Seni Paduan) telah menyertai lawatan akademik dan kerja penyelidikan di Kuala Lumpur dan Singapura di bawah seliaan Kursus GKV3174 Seminar dan Bengkel Pelukis Tamu. Ianya melibatkan aktiviti pelajar di luar kampus bagi merasai sendiri proses perkembangan idea kreatif dan pengalaman menghayati karya seni visual di sekitar muzium, galeri seni, studio artis dan institusi seni tempatan dan antarabangsa. Objektif kursus ini adalah memfokuskan kepada diskusi teori dan estetik oleh pengamatan yang berterusan mengenai isu-isu semasa yang berkaitan dengan proses kerja studio, hasil karya moden dan kontemporari dari seniman seni visual di Malaysia dan luar negara. Lawatan ini juga menggalakkan jaringan perhubungan dengan pihak industri yang akan meliputi lawatan studio, sesi kritikan karya seni, syarahan sisipan, bengkel demonstrasi proses penghasilan karya, diskusi idea bersama artis jemputan dan yang berkaitan dengannya. Professor Dr Narayanan Kulathuramaiyer, Director of the Institute of Social Informatics and Technological Innovations, will be one of the key speakers at the National Conference on Open and Distance eLearning (NCODeL 2019). He will be addressing his work with remote rural communities across the country, strategy shaping taskforce on ICT education, promoting MOOC and currently innovating MOOC technology to serve marginalized rural communities in Malaysia, Indonesia and the Philippines.

KOTA SAMARAHAN, 24 Oktober 2019 : Tahniah buat Projek SPeeD MyMoheS atas kejayaan merangkul Emas dalam Kategori Terbuka sempena Sarawak Invention, Innovation and Design Expo 2019 (SIIDEx2019) pada 21 - 23 di Pusat Konvensyen CIDB Sarawak. Sebanyak 4 kategori dipertandingkan pada expo berkenaan.

SPeeD MyMoheS merupakan sistem yang dibangunkan bersama di antara Pusat Pembangunan dan Khidmat Teknologi Maklumat (CITDS) dan Pusat Perancangan Strategik, Pengurusan Kualiti dan Risiko (SQRC). Fungsi sistem ini adalah untuk menyemak kesempurnaan dan kualiti data semasa universiti.

Terima kasih juga kepada semua pemunya data, pembangun sistem dan PTj yang terlibat atas sokongan semua dalam menggunakan SPeeD MyMoheS. Kejayaan ini adalah kejayaan untuk kita semua.

Projek SPeeD MyMoheS diwakili oleh En Adam Francis dari CITDS, En Mohd Hairulnizam Mohd Zamri, Pn Dayang Mazina Awang Batu, En Gustinata Basuan, Cik Siti Afizah Jamil masing-masing dari SQRC.

Kota Samarahan – The Universiti Malaysia Sarawak (UNIMAS) team with their project, “Optishrimp: Behaviour Driven Autonomous & Sustainable Shrimp Farming System” was awarded the 1st Runner-up at the national UniMAKER competition recently.

The team from the Faculty of Computer Science and Information Technology was represented by Mohammad Farhaan Iqbal and Khalif Amir Zakry, walked away with RM3,000 in cash, trophy and certificates. The project idea, which aims to help improve the utilization of pellets to feed the shrimps and to reduce shrimp farm pollution, was developed by the students and supervised by senior lecturer Dr Lau Sei Ping.

FCSIT was also represented by another team of students, Dhiyauddin Aiman Dzulkapli and Jacky Jong Jau Chu who presented their project entitled, “ProtoSense: An Incidence Aware Helmet”. For the competition, both teams were mentored by Dr Lau and Dr Sarah Samson Juan.

A total of 34 teams from various universities participated in the three-day event held at the Futurise Centre, Cyberjaya and Putrajaya International Convention Centre, with the theme, “Achieving Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) through IR 4.0” from November 3-5 2019.

Last Tuesday (5^th Nov), there was a video and audio workshop organised in the Faculty of Applied and Creative Arts, Universiti Malaysia Sarawak (UNIMAS). This workshop was opened to public for free. There were about 150 participants attended the workshop. During the workshop, demonstration and test use of the latest video and audio equipment had taken place.
