Announcement: UNIMAS AHA Training Site Course Calendar 2018 (2^nd Half)

The UNIMAS American Heart Association (AHA) Training Site is pleased to announce its latest course offerings for the second half of 2018.

UNIMAS is an official training site that offers the following AHA Courses:

• Courses for Healthcare Professionals:
  • AHA Basic Life Support (BLS) Provider Course for Healthcare Providers
  • AHA Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) Provider Course
  • AHA Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) Provider Course
• Courses for Non-Medically Trained Personnel:
  • AHA Heartsaver® First Aid, CPR & AED Provider Course

Enrolled participants will receive the official AHA course package upon registration. Participants who successfully fulfill the assessment (written and skills testing) requirements of the course will be awarded with an AHA provider status which is internationally recognized and valid for 2-years.

All courses will be conducted by AHA certified instructors in the Clinical Simulation Centre, Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences, Universiti Malaysia Sarawak (UNIMAS), Kota Samarahan Campus. The training facility is fully equipped with simulators of varying fidelity levels to ensure our participants are fully immersed in the training programmes.

Nurturing Research Towards Scholary Enhancement

Faculty of Economic and Business, Universiti Malaysia Sarawak is delighted to announce the 4^th BBRC (Business Borneo Research Colloquium) which will be held on 15-16^th October, 2019. Call for Research Grant Proposals_Petronas-P.Ramlee Chair Cycle 2

The Petronas-P.Ramlee Research Grant Chair endeavours to encourage and support research in the following areas :

“Interdisciplinary and collaborative research areas in creative arts, performing arts and arts management particularly in applied and functional design, music, film, drama, theatre, fine arts, electronic arts, animation and any field related to applied and creative arts disciplines.”

Researchers who are interested are encouraged to apply and submit proposals through IRIS (select Petronas-P. Ramlee Chair) and submit the hard copy to the Deputy Dean (Research) of Faculty of Applied and Creative Arts (FACA). Please note the deadline is 31st October 2019.

Kindly note the terms and conditions of the grant are as follow :

• Priority for non-principal investigators or grant holders who’s grants have expired
• Maximum grant duration is 1 year
• Grant output = 1 publication
• Maximum budget = RM10,000
• Researchers are to present and share the findings upon completion of the grant

Professor Dr Lo May Chiun’s lecture was witnessed by YBhg Professor Datuk Dr Mohamad Kadim Suaidi, Vice Chancellor UNIMAS, YBhg Mr Hii Chang Kee, Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Tourism, Arts and Culture Sarawak, YBhg Prof John Wilson, Deputy Vice Chancellor and Chief Executive Officer of Swinburne University of Technology, Sarawak campus, YBhg Professor Dr Wan Hashim Wan Ibrahim, Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Research & Innovation), YBhg Professor Dr Hj Ahmad Hata Rasit, Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Academic & International), Deans and Directors of Faculty and Institutes, including top management and representatives from both public and private sectors, strategic partners, members of UNIMAS and students.
