    KOTA SAMARAHAN, 10 APRIL 2018: Fakulti Sains Komputer & Teknologi Maklumat (FSKTM), Universiti Malaysia Sarawak dengan kerjasama Kerajaan Negeri Sarawak telah menganjurkan Bengkel e-Commerce pada 10 hingga 11 April bertempat di Fakulti Sains Komputer & Teknologi Maklumat (FSKTM). Seramai 24 peserta yang menghadiri bengkel selama dua hari ini. Peserta-peserta terdiri dari pengusaha serta penenun songket dan penyulam keringkam dari kampung di sekitar Kuching, Kampung Gedong, Kampung Mang, dan Kampung Kuala Rajang. Objektif bengkel ini adalah untuk membantu pengusaha serta penenun songket dan penyulam keringkam dari segi pemasaran dan penjualan secara digital selari dengan hasrat negeri Sarawak ke arah ekonomi digital. Dengan adanya program sedemikian dapat membantu untuk mengekalkan tradisi warisan Sarawak supaya tidak pupus, dan juga meningkatkan ekonomi ke peringkat global.

    Bengkel ini telah dikendalikan oleh pensyarah FSKTM di bawah Projek Inovasi Songket dan Keringkam Sarawak.

    PROFESSIONAL INVOLVEMENT FROM FACA STUDENTS IN THE MALAYSIA INTERNATIONAL FURNITURE FAIR (MIFF) 2018.

    Malaysia International Furniture Fair (MIFF) 2018 showcase to include UNIMAS’ Faculty of Applied and Creative Arts’ student creations. Five students from the Faculty of Applied and Creative Arts (FACA) were chosen to showcase their furniture prototypes at the Malaysia International Furniture Fair (MIFF), held from 8 to 11 March 2018 at MITEC, Kuala Lumpur. MIFF is the largest exhibition for Malaysia's world-renowned wood furniture and is a market place for high quality home and office furniture that caters to global tastes and budgets.

    The second-year students from FACA’s Design Technology Programme who participated in the MIFF exhibition also participated in an in-house furniture design competition jointly organized by UNIMAS’ Institute of Design and Innovation (iNDI) and PUSAKA last year (2017), under the ‘Kursi PUSAKA-UNIMAS’ grant. The in-house competition was held with the aim of promoting new design ideas for commercial furniture and to establish a distinct Sarawakian identity in the furniture industry.

    KOTA SAMARAHAN, 29 April 2019 – Sebagai usaha menyemarakkan program membaca, Pusat Khidmat Maklumat Akademik telah mengambil inisiatif menganjurkan Program Cinta Ilmu selama dua hari bermula 29 April lepas sebagai menyokong Read@UNIMAS dan menarik minat membaca dan memupuk kecintaan kepada ilmu dalam kalangan warga UNIMAS.

    Objektif program adalah untuk menyemarakkan semangat membaca dalam kalangan warga UNIMAS,memupuk kecintaan kepada ilmu pengetahuan, menggalakkan kempen menderma buku dalam kalangan warga UNIMAS serta meningkatkan kesedaran budaya membaca di kalangan masyarakat.

    Antara aktiviti diadakan seperti gimik perasmian, Jom Baca 10 minit, Read Out Loud  yang dilakukan oleh tiga orang pelajar dari sekolah SK St. Martin, SK Empila dan SK Dato Mohd Musa Samarahan, persembahan nyanyian oleh Adik Sofia Arissa, Read and Write with Emerald, pameran dan jualan buku dan cenderahati, jualan makanan dan minuman (food truck)Yakub

    Istimewanya Program Cinta Ilmu kali ini turut dihadiri oleh  Miss Planet International 2019, Cik Viviana Lin Watson,19, yang telah mewakili Malaysia ke peringkat antarabangsa untuk Miss Planet International pada 1 Mac 2019 di Cambodia dan telah merangkul anugerah 2nd runner up Miss Planet International 2019 bersandarkan minat membaca yang mendalam dan mempunyai pengetahuan am yang luas.

    KOTA SAMARAHAN, 10 April 2018 : Seramai 167 staf Universiti Malaysia Sarawak (UNIMAS) yang telah menunjukkan prestasi kerja cemerlang sepanjang tahun lepas, telah menerima Anugerah Perkhidmatan Cemerlang (APC), pada Majlis Anugerah Gemilang UNIMAS (MAGU), bertempat di DeTAR PUTRA UNIMAS, pagi tadi.

    Turut disampaikan dalam majlis tersebut ialah penyampaian Anugerah Perkhidmatan Setia (APS) 2017 kepada 70 orang staf UNIMAS yang telah berkhidmat selama 20 tahun dan penyampaian sijil penghargaan persaraan kepada 17 orang staf UNIMAS.

    Dua belas pensyarah turut dianugerahkan Anugerah Akademik berdasarkan kategori yang dipertandingkan manakala 9 anugerah pengurusan dianugerahkan kepada staf bukan akademik. Selain itu 4 anugerah sukan turut diberikan kepada staf yang cemerlang dalam bidang sukan.

    Penghargaan turut diberikan kepada staf secara individu mahupun berkumpulan yang telah mencapai kecemerlangan dalam pelbagai bidang antaranya di peringkat kebangsaan dalam bidang pengajaran, penyelidikan, pentadbiran serta aspek inovasi, sukan dan sebagainya.

    Perasmian MAGU yang bertemakan Teguh Bersama / Stronger Together kali ini telah disempurnakan oleh Timbalan Menteri Pendidikan Tinggi Malaysia, Datuk Dr. Mary Yap Kain Ching dan turut dihadiri bersama oleh Pengerusi Lembaga Pengarah UNIMAS, Datu Dr Hatta Solhi, Naib Canselor UNIMAS, Profesor Datuk Dr Mohamad Kadim Suaidi, Timbalan-timbalan Naib Canselor, Pegarah-pengarah, Dekan-dekan, Pegawai-pegawai dan ...

    Kota Samarahan,  30 August 2018: A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed between Universiti Malaysia Sarawak and Estream Software Sdn. Bhd, Malaysia with the aim of establishing a basis upon which UNIMAS and Estream may explore areas for cooperation and collaboration such as research, staff engagement, industrial study visits and student industrial placement.

    This event was officiated by Ybhg Professor Datuk Dr Mohamad Kadim Suaidi as Vice-Chancellor, Universiti Malaysia Sarawak and Mr Desmond Law Hoe Yan, Managing Director of Estream Software Sdn. Bhd, Malaysia.

    This event was witnessed by Dean of the Faculty of Economics and Business, Associate Professor Michael Tinggi and Ms Ong Bee Wei, the Education Advisor of Estream Software Sdn. Bhd., as well as Unimas staff and other invited guests.

    The Memorandum of Understanding is in line with UNIMAS's vision of being an exemplary university through the pursuit of excellence in teaching, research and scholarship.

    KOTA SAMARAHAN, 7 April 2018 : Ten officials from the Ministry of Chittagong Hill Tracts Affairs (MOCHTA), Bangladesh, visited the Faculty of Social Sciences and Humanities today.

    The delegation was headed by Chairman of the Parliamentary Standing Committee on MOCHTA,  Mr R A M Obaidul Muktadir Chowdhury,

    The visit was part of the delegation’s academic tour to learn from selected countries on the formulation and implementation of inclusive development.

    The delegation was interested to know more on how Malaysia, in particular Sarawak, with its multi-ethnicity, addresses the issue of inclusive development.

    The Dean of the Faculty of Social Sciences and Humanities (FSSH), Associate Professor Dr Neilson Ilan Mersat and Deputy Dean for Research and Postgraduate, Dr Arnold Puyok, were present to welcome the delegation.

    Later on, Dr Puyok also briefed the delegation on the recent research activities by the Faculty especially in the area of indigenous issues in Sarawak.

    The sharing session was also attended by the academic staffs of the Faculty as well as representatives from the UNIMAS Business School.
