    The Institute of Social Informatics and Technological Innovations (ISITI) successfully kick-started the sixth eBorneo Knowledge Fair 2017 (eBKF6 2017) on 25 October 2017. The knowledge fair this year marks yet another milestone for ISITI as this not only is this the second time that ISITI is organising the knowledge fair in Ba’Kelalan, the Heart of Borneo, but this year marks the first time that the knowledge fair has introduced the Borneo Drive-Thru workshop to the participants.

    The Borneo Drive-Thru workshop, which started in Lawas on 24 October 2017 before making its way to Long Semadoh before ending the journey in Ba’Kalalan, allowed participants to experience the terrain of the highlands as well as the gave them an insight to the lives of the highland communities in Sarawak.

    eBKF6 2017, a three-day event, which runs from 25-28 October 2017, officially commenced with a series of workshops in various areas of Information and Communication Technology for Development (ICT4D) and are all relevant to the goals and objectives of the knowledge fair which is to promote research that innovates with technologies in order to address the challenges and opportunities that remote and isolated indigenous communities face.

    KOTA SAMARAHAN,  25 Oktober 2017 : Universiti Malaysia Sarawak (UNIMAS) terpilih sebagai lokasi singgah bagi Program Coca-ColaKU (Komuniti Usahawan) via KPDNKK yang bertujuan untuk menyediakan latihan keusahawanan berkonsepkan aktiviti di peringkat mikro, kecil dan sederhana dalam kalangan pelajar IPT di negara ini.

    Program Coca-ColaKU ini merupakan program pertama KPDNKK dengan kerjasama pihak Multinasional Company (MNC) dengan melibatkan 13 buah IPT dan sasaran peserta seramai 14,500 orang terdiri dari pelajar UA dan usahawan PKS.

    Majlis perasmian program ini di UNIMAS telah dirasmikan oleh Timbalan Naib Canselor (Hal Ehwal Pelajar dan Alumni) UNIMAS, Profesor Mohd Fadzil Abdul Rahman, pagi tadi bertempat di Arena Gemilang, DeTAR PUTRA UNIMAS.

    Dalam ucapan, Profesor Mohd Fadzil mengucapkan rasa penghargaan kepada pihak penganjur kerana memilih Universiti ini sebagai lokasi singgah bagi program berkenaan.

    Beliau berkata, program tersebut bakal memberi manfaat kepada pelajar dan juga usahawan PKS dengan penyediaan tips-tips dan kaedah-kaedah perniagaan yang lebih teratur.

    “ Bidang keusahawanan adalah luas dan kita tidak boleh memandang keuntungan pada kadar yang segera. Sebenarnya dalam keusahawanan, kita bukan sahaja menjana pendapatan untuk diri sendiri tetapi juga membuka peluang untuk berbakti kepada masyarakat dan negara seperti menyediakan pekerjaan kepada masyarakat dan menjana pendapatan kepada negara ...

    KOTA SAMARAHAN, 29 April 2019 – Sebagai usaha menyemarakkan program membaca, Pusat Khidmat Maklumat Akademik telah mengambil inisiatif menganjurkan Program Cinta Ilmu selama dua hari bermula 29 April lepas sebagai menyokong Read@UNIMAS dan menarik minat membaca dan memupuk kecintaan kepada ilmu dalam kalangan warga UNIMAS.

    Objektif program adalah untuk menyemarakkan semangat membaca dalam kalangan warga UNIMAS,memupuk kecintaan kepada ilmu pengetahuan, menggalakkan kempen menderma buku dalam kalangan warga UNIMAS serta meningkatkan kesedaran budaya membaca di kalangan masyarakat.

    Antara aktiviti diadakan seperti gimik perasmian, Jom Baca 10 minit, Read Out Loud  yang dilakukan oleh tiga orang pelajar dari sekolah SK St. Martin, SK Empila dan SK Dato Mohd Musa Samarahan, persembahan nyanyian oleh Adik Sofia Arissa, Read and Write with Emerald, pameran dan jualan buku dan cenderahati, jualan makanan dan minuman (food truck)Yakub

    Istimewanya Program Cinta Ilmu kali ini turut dihadiri oleh  Miss Planet International 2019, Cik Viviana Lin Watson,19, yang telah mewakili Malaysia ke peringkat antarabangsa untuk Miss Planet International pada 1 Mac 2019 di Cambodia dan telah merangkul anugerah 2nd runner up Miss Planet International 2019 bersandarkan minat membaca yang mendalam dan mempunyai pengetahuan am yang luas.

    Kota Samarahan,  30 August 2018: A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed between Universiti Malaysia Sarawak and Estream Software Sdn. Bhd, Malaysia with the aim of establishing a basis upon which UNIMAS and Estream may explore areas for cooperation and collaboration such as research, staff engagement, industrial study visits and student industrial placement.

    This event was officiated by Ybhg Professor Datuk Dr Mohamad Kadim Suaidi as Vice-Chancellor, Universiti Malaysia Sarawak and Mr Desmond Law Hoe Yan, Managing Director of Estream Software Sdn. Bhd, Malaysia.

    This event was witnessed by Dean of the Faculty of Economics and Business, Associate Professor Michael Tinggi and Ms Ong Bee Wei, the Education Advisor of Estream Software Sdn. Bhd., as well as Unimas staff and other invited guests.

    The Memorandum of Understanding is in line with UNIMAS's vision of being an exemplary university through the pursuit of excellence in teaching, research and scholarship.
