14th December 2020: The Malaysian TRIZ Association (MyTRIZ), in partnership with Universiti Malaysia Sarawak (UNIMAS), has successfully organised the fifth TRIZ Competition on 9th December 2020.
The biennial competition, held online this year, witnessed 11 teams from across the nation present their product ideas to the audience reaching more than 80 attendees.
The 11 teams were shortlisted from 91 teams that participated in the problem-solving laboratory sessions and from submissions that were received from the competition website.
The lab sessions were conducted as a specialised problem-based workshop, for UNIMAS Professional and Management staff, students from the Systematic Innovations course, and school teachers across the state.
The judging team comprised TRIZ leaders from The Malaysian TRIZ Association (MyTRIZ), UNIMAS, and Tabung Gagasan Anak Sarawak (TEGAS).
The champion for MyTRIZ Competition 2020 was the product I-Saji, the brainchild of a team of undergraduate students from the Faculty of Computer Science and Information Technology (FCSIT), UNIMAS.
The first runner up went to another FCSIT undergraduate team with the product E-ZY Pump Bottle, whilst the second runner up went to a team from the UNIMAS Professional and Management group with their project Safe Garbage Collector.
Submissions from the UNIMAS Professional and Management staff showcased noble solutions that included waste management, innovation on chlorine sprinkler (EZ Spreader), and innovative space (Future Car Park) for the university.
