Kota Samarahan, 9 Oct 2019: Faculty of Engineering, Universiti Malaysia Sarawak (UNIMAS) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Reveron Consulting Sdn Bhd to strengthen cooperation towards developing professional capability in the contemporary knowledge of Building Information Modeling (BIM).
The MoU serves to establish joint efforts to promote academic collaboration between the academia and industry on the application of BIM and related infrastructure lifecycle solutions. The purpose of the MoU is to provide students with the opportunity for exposure to computing technology and information systems in the construction industry, which is in line with the industrial revolution 4.0.
Professor Datuk Dr Mohamad Kadim Suaidi, Vice-Chancellor UNIMAS and Mr Ravindranath Koka, CEO Reveron signed the MoU. The MoU signing was witnessed by Associate Professor Ir Dr Siti Noor Linda Taib, Dean of Engineering Faculty UNIMAS and Dato’ Seri Mohamed Azahari Mohamed Kamil, Advisor, Reveron Consulting.
Under the MoU, Reveron will sponsor a three-year BENTLEY software campus subscription for UNIMAS. This sponsorship provides the knowledge of BIM application via BENTLEY software to faculty members and students at UNIMAS. Both UNIMAS and Reveron will facilitate the use of BENTLEY software for educational purpose at UNIMAS, which will promote collaborative research and publication by faculty members and practitioners from both institutions.
