WE ARE HIRING RESEARCH ASSISTANTS!
We are looking for enthusiastic and energetic young adults to fill in the short term post of research assistants under a research project funded by the Global Challenges Research Fund entitled “miRNA as Biomarker for CORonary CALcification – Prospective Single Centre Study of Patients in Sarawak, Malaysia (CorCal Study)”. This is a collaboration project between UNIMAS and Surrey University, UK. This post is opened for candidates who are interested in the area of CARDIOVASCULAR, MOLECULAR LAB WORK, and BIG DATA ANALYSIS research. In particular, the objective of this project is to isolate micro-RNA circulating in patients with coronary artery calcification seen in CT-scans and to derive a “miRNA profile” using big data analysis of bioinformatics in patients with isolated coronary artery calcification. This project can evolve into a Master of Science degree upon successful registration at UNIMAS and successful completion of the project.
Salary: RM2500/per month for 12 months full time.
Responsibilities (include but not limited to):
- Assist in patient recruitment and sample acquisition
- Processing of bloods for non-coding RNA analysis
- Conduct extensive experiments to prove the robustness of the proposed model.
Requirements:
- A Bachelor degree in relevant Science field with a minimum CGPA of 2.75 or equivalent.
- Experience in molecular laboratory work including RT-PCR
- Experience in big data analysis and microarray is a plus
