A discussion session was held between FCSIT/UNIMAS represented by AP Dr Johari Abdullah, Dr Sze San Nah (TD KIKP), Dr Jacey-Lynn Minoi (Project Lead for myCapsule Space Project), and Tn Hj Abdul Rahman Mat (Supervisor for Service Learning Team for Pulau Salak) with Sacofa representative, En Mohamad Sait, ( Head of Corporate Communications), and Mr Venu Putjankattil (Executive, Corporate Communications). The discussion is on collaboration for conducting a CSR program under Sacofa whre FCSIT/UNIMAS will be the training partner for the program. The program, Kid-Digital-STEM Education Programme, aims at providing exposure for Standard 5 and 6 students from SK Salak in term of providing term exposure and training in the area of IT, programming and digital literacy. The 3 days program will be conducted at myCapsule space and Makerspace at the Faculty of Computer Science and IT, from 26th to 28th March 2019 and will involved 30 Standard 5 and 6 students from SK Salak. The facilitator for the program will be the students from the faculty, which is part of the Service Learning Program. Sacofa has agreed to allocate RM20,000.00 to fund the project through their CSR Initiative. This program is a continuation from previous year collaboration in 2018 with Sacofa whereby Sacofa build a communication tower in Pulau Salak to provide connectivity to the local people and FCSIT/UNIMAS assist in providing the content and training to students and the community back in 2018.
