The Times Higher Education (THE) World University Rankings 2019 was released last Friday. With almost five (5) decades of experience as a source of analysis and insight on higher education, THE have unparalleled expertise on the trends underpinning university performance globally. THE is the world’s most influential university ranking and their data and benchmarking tools are being used by many of the world’s prestigious universities to achieve their strategic goals.
Universiti Malaysia Sarawak (UNIMAS) made their first historical appearance in the Top 1001 best universities in the THE World University Rankings 2019 since its inception in 1992, a significant achievement during the university’s 25 years celebration.
With this achievement, UNIMAS is recognised as one of the 10 best universities in Malaysia and also made it as the first university to be listed in the World University Ranking from Borneo. Besides UNIMAS, other universities which have also been listed are Universiti Malaya (UM), Universiti Tunku Abdul Rahman (UTAR), Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM), Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM), Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM), Universiti Teknologi Petronas (UTP) Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM), Universiti Tenaga nasional (UNITEN), Universiti Utara Malaysia (UUM) and Universiti Teknologi Mara (UiTM).
