1 April 2018 (Sunday) – A total of 40 students from 2nd, 3rd and 4th year students of Chemical Engineering and Energy Sustainability department took part in Zirafah Purple’s Cave Explorer Event. This program was to explore Taman Tumbina at Bintulu and Niah Cave, Batu Niah, Miri which is 700 km from UNIMAS Kota Samarahan Campus. The programme was accompanied by Deputy Dean of Student Affairs and Alumni, Dr Nazeri Abdul Rahman. The main objectives of this event were to augment the participant confidence and perseverance as well as appreciating the beauty and biodiversity of pristine natural environment. This cave exploration activity was part of “Tautan Kasih UNIMAS-Belaga” Programme in which the missions of the programme were to conduct motivation and STEM education activities at a primary school as well as discovering Kayan culture at Sg Asap, Belaga, Kapit. The programme director was Mr Kenny Mathew Kajan of whom was strongly supported by Ms Lydia Ina ak Tuah and Nur Hidayah Kumar binti Firdaus Kumar as his deputies besides other committee members. All committee members are the students from Department of Chemical Engineering and Energy Sustainability.
