1.     ABOUT

Welcome to #8thibbc2018

Started in 2004, the International Borneo Business Conference (IBBC) has emerged as a platform for academicians, researchers, practitioners, policy makers to interact and exchange viewpoints and research findings on contemporary business and economics issues related to the Borneo region and the global world. IBBC is a biennial conference and the previous conferences were successfully held in 2004, 2006, 2008, 2010, 2014 and 2016.

The 8th International Borneo Business Conference, 2018 (#8thiBBC2018) is organized by the Faculty of Economics and Business, University Malaysia Sarawak (UNIMAS), on October 4th & 5th, 2018. #8thiBBC2018 continues its tradition of bringing together participants from local and international universities, private and government institutions or agencies and various industrial sectors to exchange their experiences and ideas.

Objectives:

The objectives of the conference are as follows:

  1. To encourage collaborative research and projects amongst institutions of higher learning and industries in addressing the issues of embracing and innovation and creativity;
  2. To establish networking and relations among the academicians, practitioners, government officials and community; and
  3. To provide a platform for scholars and practitioners to debate and disseminate research findings undertaken in various topics

Full Paper written in English and submitted by 1st July 2018 will be double-blind reviewed. Submission of full papers are open now and you will be notified of its acceptance within two weeks of article received. All accepted papers must be presented at the conference. When preparing a manuscript for submission, authors should follow the journal format and guidelines of International Journal of Business and Society (IJBS). The detail is at http://www.ijbs.unimas.my/index.php/note-to-contributors. All entries will be reviewed by our internal and external conference reviewers. At least one of the authors of accepted papers must register as conference participant.

 

General Instructions

             All manuscripts should be submitted electronically to the conference committee at This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.. The soft copy must be at least in Microsoft Office 97 (PC Version).  Please make sure it is virus–free.

             Allow top margins of 1.25” (3.2 cm) first page and 0.75” (1.9 cm) the following pages, bottom margin of 1.44” (3.7 cm) left margin of 0.63” (1.6 cm) and right margin of 0.63” (1.6 cm).

             Type single-spaced text and allow for a double spacing between paragraphs (Before/After 0 pt.)

             The paper should include: title, author’s name(s), affiliation and present address, acknowledgement, abstract (200 words maximum), an introduction, content, a conclusion, and a reference section

             Acknowledgement and information on grant received should be given before the references. Important formulae (displayed), figures and tables should be numbered consecutively throughout the manuscript.

 

Fonts

Use font type Times New Roman.

Use font size 14 bold for the title.

Use font size 12 for the author’s and affiliation names and addresses.

Use font size 11 for the text which include abstract, body, references and acknowledgement.

 

Headings

Major headings should be centred in the column. Use capital letters.

Subheadings should be set in italics, bold and aligned to the left-hand margin of the column on a separate line.

 

Tables and Figures

Use font size 10.

The charts and graphs must be centred and tittle should be at the top.

Number all tables and figures with Arabic numerals in the order in which the tables are first mentioned in text.

The illustrations and photographs must be centred.

Capitalise captions.

 

End Notes

Endnotes should be kept to a minimum.

References should be complete and follow the APA Style. Examples:
