Recently, Design Technology program of the Faculty of Applied and Creative Arts has successfully organised the annual orientation camp for its First-Year students. The event was held on November 24 & 25, 2018 at Experimental Theatre, Faculty of Applied and Creative Arts and Sumiran Eco Camp, Rantau Panjang, Kuching. This year’s theme is entitled “neXus 4.0: Future Bonds of Designers”. The event was officiated by the Faculty’s Deputy Dean of Academic Undergraduate and Student Development, Assoc. Prof. Dr Musdi bin Hj. Shanat. The Design Tech Camp 2018 Director, Mohd Rafiq Haslan and Design Tech Camp 2018 Advisor, Dr Terry Lucas also welcomed and thanked attendees (Design Technology lecturers and students) for supporting the event. The orientation focuses on strengthening the bonds among fellow juniors (First-Year students) and seniors (Second-Year students) within the Design Technology program. At the same time, this orientation also prepares juniors to be mentally and physically prepared to embark their learning experience in the Design Technology program. Activities include the introduction of specialisations in Design Technology program (graphic design, industrial design, and textile & fashion), guest alumni talk, PERSENI talk, ice-breaking sessions, team building games & adventure trails.
