19-20 April 2018: The UNIMAS AHA Training Site conducted its first out of two pediatric advanced life support (PALS) provider course for the year of 2018. All participants successfully completed the skills tests, megacode and written exam which qualifies them for their official AHA PALS provider card and registration into the AHA’s online provider registry (CPRVerify).
The AHA’s Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) Course builds upon the basic principles of the AHA BLS Course and highlighting advanced assessments and managements of seriously-ill or injured children. The training in this advanced course focusses on systematic approaches to pediatric assessment, basic life support, PALS treatment algorithms, effective resuscitation and resuscitation team dynamics.
This instructor-led course is conducted within the Clinical Simulation Centre’s simulation suites using various teaching modalities which includes AHA’s signature video-based practice-while-watching (PWW) and Megacode sessions using sophisticated task trainers and simulators to emulate clinical scenarios.
