3 December 2019, 2pm. The Faculty of Engineering, UNIMAS in collaboration with the OSAKA GAS Foundation of International Cultural Exchange (OGFICE) presented the research grant and scholarship awards to 6 new grant recipients and 12 students for the session 2020. Attending this event as representative from OGFICE are Mr Hiroshi Sumitomo, the executive Director and Mr Tetsuo Setoguchi, the chairman. In his short speech, Mr Tetsuo Setoguchi hopes that the OGFICE fund could help UNIMAS researchers to conduct impactful research contributing to energy and indirectly, the research findings could help to boost the ocio economy and life of the rural communities.
The Dean of Faculty of Engineering, Associate Professor Ir Dr Hjh Siti Noor Linda Bt Hj Taib was also present to welcome the honorable guests and witness the award presentation ceremony. In her welcoming remarks, the Dean mentioned that the continuous collaboration between UNIMAS and OGFICE has been very impactful to help researchers to produce better research and publications. The scholarship awards have been undoubtedly helpful to the students to support their studies in the field of Engineering.
In this ceremony, all the 6 research grant recipients (Principal Investigator) for the year 2020 presented their research proposals with the theme related to energy. Since its establishment in 1992, OGFICE has been supporting educational activities in Southeast Asia countries. UNIMAS is honored to collaborate with OGFICE for several years now and hopes to continue this collaboration in many years to come.
