KOTA SAMARAHAN, 17 January 2018 : Universiti Malaysia Sarawak (UNIMAS) has been ranked 351 in the Times Higher Education’s (THE) Emerging Economies University Rankings 2019.

THE World Emerging Economies Universities Ranking has been developed by THE to measure the achievement of universities in countries classified by the Financial Times Stock Exchange (FTSE) as "advanced emerging", "secondary emerging" or "frontier".

The ranking covers 43 countries and only 450 universities were able to participate according to THE prerequisites.

For the first time, UNIMAS joined THE world emerging economies ranking last year and UNIMAS has been ranked 351 in the world.

The indicators used to measure the achievement of a university are grouped into five areas namely teaching (the learning environment); research (volume, income and reputation); citations (research influence); international outlook (staff, students and research); and industry income (knowledge transfer).

We believed the hardwork and team spirit has again produced this significant achievement.
