28 April 2018 - 42 UNIMAS students from the different faculties stepped away from their study desks and teamed up for a project of an altruistic event. This special project is one of the assignment under PPD1032 Credited Co-curicular (Subcore: Healthy Kitty, Core: Community Service) and facilitated by Ms. Siti Zaleha binti Raduan, lecturer from the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences (FMHS). With the theme of ‘Yummy, Hearty and Pretty Kitty’, this event involving UNIMAS students to go the extra mile to educate standard one students of SK Dato Mohd Musa, Kota Samarahan on practicing healthy lifestyle in a fun way. It was a major success as the UNIMAS students received warm welcome from the kids.
Rusyda Dianah Mohd Zaidi, Nur Nasuha binti Nasir and Mohd Ameruddin bin Othman were the featured speakers, leading the team member to navigate the project they were passionate about and make the event more than just a compulsory project. The event was separated into three categories where the first was called ‘Hearty Kitty’ in which they held an playful exercise session which then transitioned to a cheering competition between the students. The second event was called ‘Yummy Kitty’ in which there was an educational and engaging talk session of nutritious food. This session ended with stationed games between the students and facilitators. The last segment was called ‘Pretty Kitty’ where the students had a coloring session and was introduced to cleanliness products by the facilitators. This event was then concluded with a gift session to the headmaster of the school to show our appreciation on allowing UNIMAS student’s to visit their school.
By the end of the day, the team members were satisfied with the fruits of their labour, it was truly a day to remember.
