Faculty of Engineering, UNIMAS team was awarded 2nd Runner Up for Sketch Design Perodua Eco-Challange (PEC) 2017, at Perodua Press Conference and Iftar Ramadhan

KUALA LUMPUR, 9th June 2017: All the organizing team, students and lecturers of the 10 finalist universities; Universiti Teknologi Petronas (UTP), Universiti Kuala Lumpur (UniKL), Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM), Universiti Teknologi Mara (UiTM), Universiti Malaya (UM), Politeknik Ungku Omar, Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM), Universiti Teknikal Malaysia Melaka (UTEM), Universiti Malaysia Sarawak (UNIMAS) and Universiti Malaysia Pahang (UMP), and the medias has gathered at the majestic Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre for the special event as the PEC moves into its second phase.
Datuk Aminar Rashid Salleh, president and CEO of Perodua had told the attendees during his speech in the beginning of that event, “In this phase, the students will get into a real parts and accessories processing and exercise assisted by Perodua mentors. They will plan, build the prototype, test and upgrade till the final design. Through this process, they can try to adapt and adopt what they have learned in class”.

During the same event, as well, the winners for the PEC Sketching Competition which was held last January at Shah Alam was announced. The results were UNIMAS in the third place bringing home RM1,000.00, followed by in UTEM second and UTP in the first place. While the final event will be held somewhere in November and the winner will bring back a price of total worth of RM85,000.00.
