KOTA SAMARAHAN, 19 May 2016: eBario is the multi-award-winning telecentre initiative by researchers in UNIMAS that provided computers and internet access to the remote and isolated village of Bario in the Kelabit Highlands of north-eastern Sarawak. Alongside the technology, the researchers paid considerable attention to discovering how it could be used to contribute to the development aspirations of the residents. The project began by bringing Bario to the outside world and the outcome has been nothing short of remarkable.
