Faculty of Computer Science and Information Technology (FCSIT), UNIMAS was honoured to receive delegates from Bahagian Kolaborasi Industri & Masyarakat (BKIM), JPT, on 25th October 2021, headed by YBhg. Datuk Mohd Sharil bin Abdullah (Director, BKIM), Encik Ahmad Rizal bin Adnan (Director, BGA) and Encik Wahi bin Nordin (Director, BKPA).
Makerspace@UNIMAS team advisors, Assoc Prof Dr Sze San Nah and Assoc Prof Dr Johari Abdullah welcomed the delegates to the faculty. Prof Dr Wan Hashim Wan Ibrahim (Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Research and Innovation), UNIMAS), Puan Noraziah Abdul Wahab (Director, University Sustainability Centre, UNIMAS), Dr Dzulzalani Eden (Director, University Industry Centre, UNIMAS) and Assoc Prof Dr Kartinah Zen (Dean, FCSIT UNIMAS) and Norfadzlan Yusup (Head of Makerspace lab) were also present during the visit.
This visit to Makerspace @ UNIMAS was part of the one-day working visit to Universiti Malaysia Sarawak. Assoc Prof Dr Sze San Nah briefed the delegates on various community-based initiatives and current project implementations that the team has organised since 2019. Such initiatives and projects included working together with Sacofa Sdn Bhd to supply Digital Makerspace Starter Kits to 6 rural schools in Sarawak, COVID-19 pandemic project where the team led by Dr Lau Sei Ping in providing more than a thousand 3D Printed Face Shields and Ear Guards for the frontliners, and Digital Maker Hub activities in collaboration with Malaysia Digital Economy Corporation (MDEC).
