Eco – biz Dream Project 3 is an initiative organized by Alliance Islamic Bank in collaboration with EcoKnights, Malaysian Green Technology Corperation (GreenTech Malaysia) and Asia School of Business (ASB) that aimed to ideate and originate innovative and viable solutions to improve living conditions of community around Kuala Lumpur’s Sungai Kerayong by fostering the ideas of participants on sustainable solution and realizing them through implementation.
The students (each team consisting four to five students) were required to submit an idea pitch based on the topic of "Revitalizing the Kerayong River". There were 3 Stages in this competition involve Stage 1; Pitching of idea where Shortlisted 25 teams were given training by experts from the Asia School of Business in collaboration with MIT Sloan Management. Stage 2, selection of top 10 Team and Bootcamp Training. Stage 3 Final Pitch Out on 9th January 2019 at Intercontinental Hotel, Kuala Lumpur. The first stage of the competition which started in September 2018 had received 150 project ideas, but only top 25 was selected into the second stage. The second stage of the competition was the Selection of Submissions of 25 project proposals to qualify to third stage. During Second Stage, only 10 teams were selected for Training & Coaching on Design Thinking Framework & Field Visit, which was facilitated by Asia Business School in collaboration with MIT Sloan. Industry experts and NGOs were assigned to each team to guide each team with their projects. The final stage involved Pitching of their business ideas together with the result of from their pilot test.


The winning Project by UNIMAS

Introducing Plug &Clean filter system which utilize Biochar as the biofilter. The system was proposed to solve the problem of discharge from wet market wastewater along the Kerayong river, Ampang. The Plug & Clean filter is using a modern twist, cheap and easy access materials, Biochar as a filter that is proven scientifically to reduce nutrients content from wastewater due to high absorbance rate. The plug and clean is cheaper, and as efficient as the commercial technology, with simpler operation and easy maintenance. The team has demonstrated its pilot testing with as high as 85% targeted pollutants removal. The winning prize of RM10000 and additional funding for implementing the Plug and Clean Filter system at Kerayong River is belong to UNIMAS team.

Judging process
The final pitch out consist of 10 minutes in total (and the Question & Answer session. The judging criteria includes impact of the product (20&), Business Model (35%) , Implementation (30%),Presentation and Team Dynamics (15%).
There were six (6) judges led by Ms. Yasmin Rasyid, Founder of ECOKNIGHTS SDN BHD, together with Mr. Giuseppe Taibi (Group Chief Marketing Officer of Alliance Bank Malaysia), Mr. Rizal Il -Ehsan Fadil Azim (Chief Executive Officer of Alliance Islamic Bank), Mdm. Elina Jani (Chief Strategic Communication of GreenTech Malaysia), Mr. Andi Suswandi Shamsuddin (Partnership Director Stakeholder Management & Outreach of Malaysia Global Innovation & Creativity Center, MaGIC) and Mr. Robest Yong ( Founder of Innoprenuer).
