Kuching, 6th February 2017 - The first convocation ceremony of the Healthcare Facility Management Certification Programme was held at Imperial Hotel Kuching, recently.
The programme has been successfully completed by 28 employees of One Medicare Sdn Bhd, a concessionaire company that provides hospital support services for 23 hospitals in Sarawak.
UNIMAS’ Faculty of Engineering was given approval by the Advisory Council for International Healthcare Facility Management to conduct the Healthcare Facility Management Certification (HFMC) programme beginning August 2015.
After a successful start with One Medicare, UNIMAS has also collaborated with UMS Investment Holdings Sdn Bhd (UiNVEST) and Sedafiat Sdn Bhd to further extend the programme in Sabah.
The HFMC programme is designed to enable healthcare facility managers to run, coordinate and optimize their physical workplace with stakeholders, and develop skills in key competency areas within their role.
The modules are designed and developed based on current needs of stakeholders, simultaneously adhering to existing standards for certified healthcare facility managers, relevant to both public and private sectors.
UNIMAS offers the certification programme as its strategy to fulfil the Malaysian Government’s aspiration to become one of the renowned healthcare centres in the world, and the best health tourism destination in Southeast Asia.
Professor Dato’ Dr Mohamad Kadim Suaidi, UNIMAS Vice Chancellor graced the occasion and thanked all supporting partners, UNIMAS Holdings Sdn Bhd, One Medicare Sdn Bhd, UMS Investment Holdings Sdn Bhd and Sedafiat Sdn Bhd for strong commitment in spearheading the HFMC programme in Sarawak and Sabah.
