Announcement: UNIMAS AHA Training Site Course Calendar 2018 (2^nd Half)

The UNIMAS American Heart Association (AHA) Training Site is pleased to announce its latest course offerings for the second half of 2018.

UNIMAS is an official training site that offers the following AHA Courses:

• Courses for Healthcare Professionals:
  • AHA Basic Life Support (BLS) Provider Course for Healthcare Providers
  • AHA Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) Provider Course
  • AHA Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) Provider Course
• Courses for Non-Medically Trained Personnel:
  • AHA Heartsaver® First Aid, CPR & AED Provider Course

Enrolled participants will receive the official AHA course package upon registration. Participants who successfully fulfill the assessment (written and skills testing) requirements of the course will be awarded with an AHA provider status which is internationally recognized and valid for 2-years.

All courses will be conducted by AHA certified instructors in the Clinical Simulation Centre, Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences, Universiti Malaysia Sarawak (UNIMAS), Kota Samarahan Campus. The training facility is fully equipped with simulators of varying fidelity levels to ensure our participants are fully immersed in the training programmes.

Objectives

The objectives of the conference are as follows:

1. To promote and disseminate scientific research in the social, biological and medical sciences in Borneo;

2. To enable the research community, public, interested Borneo government departments, and others to keep abreast of ongoing research and its results;

3. To serve as a vehicle for drawing attention to urgent research and its results;

4. To provide a forum for the flow of information on Borneo research arising from many diverse sources;

Venue

The Conference will be held on campus at Detar Putra, Universiti Malaysia Sarawak, Kota Samarahan, Sarawak, Malaysia.

Session Themes and Panels

This will be a multidisciplinary conference dealing specifically with Borneo, with plenary sessions and sessions devoted to special topics and panels including but not limited to the following fields:

26 Julai 2019 @ Jumaat: Pihak FPSK telah mengadakan mesyuarat JKKP untuk sukuan yang ke-3 tahun 2019. FPSK adalah merupakan salah satu tempat kerja yang mempunyai peralatan dan bahan-bahan yang mempunyai impak yang tinggi terhadap keselamatan dan kesihatan pekerjaan. Antaranya ialah seperti pengendalian virus, ubat-ubatan serta bahan-bahan kimia. Walaupun kuantiti adalah sedikit tetapi kesannya adalah yang sama.

Antara perkara yang menarik ialah isu berkaitan dengan biosafety dan biosecurity. Dua perkara yang saling berkaitan dalam pengurusan makmal-makmal yang berisiko tinggi. Secara ringkas, biosafety merujuk kepada pengurusan bahan-bahan berisiko tinggi dan penyediaan peraturan dan langkah-langkah kawalan penggunaan dan pelan mitigasi sekiranya wujud keadaan berbahaya, contohnya pelepasan bahan toksik. Sementara biosecurity pula merujuk kepada langkah-langkah kawalan yang bertepatan bagi mengujudkan hadangan (barrier), contohnya kawalan keluar/masuk (sistem access door) dan laluan yang terpisah (bukan laluan umum).

Untuk isu biosafety, pihak JKKP bersetuju agar penekanan diberi untuk perolehan biosafety cabinet. Dua isu utama dalam perolehan ialah berkenaan dengan standard yang boleh digunapakai dan penyelenggaraan peralatan. JKKP berpendapat bahawa penekanan perlu diberi kepada isu penyelenggaraan biosafety cabinet, sama ada terdapat kepakaran tempatan atau dalam negara atau perlu perkhidmatan dari luar negara. Ini adalah untuk menjamin agar biosafety cabinet adalah sentiasa ...
