Announcement: UNIMAS AHA Training Site Course Calendar 2018 (2^nd Half)

The UNIMAS American Heart Association (AHA) Training Site is pleased to announce its latest course offerings for the second half of 2018.

UNIMAS is an official training site that offers the following AHA Courses:

• Courses for Healthcare Professionals:
  • AHA Basic Life Support (BLS) Provider Course for Healthcare Providers
  • AHA Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) Provider Course
  • AHA Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) Provider Course
• Courses for Non-Medically Trained Personnel:
  • AHA Heartsaver® First Aid, CPR & AED Provider Course

Enrolled participants will receive the official AHA course package upon registration. Participants who successfully fulfill the assessment (written and skills testing) requirements of the course will be awarded with an AHA provider status which is internationally recognized and valid for 2-years.

All courses will be conducted by AHA certified instructors in the Clinical Simulation Centre, Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences, Universiti Malaysia Sarawak (UNIMAS), Kota Samarahan Campus. The training facility is fully equipped with simulators of varying fidelity levels to ensure our participants are fully immersed in the training programmes.

Objectives

The objectives of the conference are as follows:

1. To promote and disseminate scientific research in the social, biological and medical sciences in Borneo;

2. To enable the research community, public, interested Borneo government departments, and others to keep abreast of ongoing research and its results;

3. To serve as a vehicle for drawing attention to urgent research and its results;

4. To provide a forum for the flow of information on Borneo research arising from many diverse sources;

Venue

The Conference will be held on campus at Detar Putra, Universiti Malaysia Sarawak, Kota Samarahan, Sarawak, Malaysia.

Session Themes and Panels

This will be a multidisciplinary conference dealing specifically with Borneo, with plenary sessions and sessions devoted to special topics and panels including but not limited to the following fields:

KOTA SAMARAHAN, 18^th June 2019 – Approximately 660 new students of Universiti Malaysia Sarawak (UNIMAS) took the pledge as students of the Center of Pre-University Studies or Pusat Pengajian Pra-Universiti (PPPU) UNIMAS for the 2019/2020 session in conjunction with the Student Welcoming Week, yesterday.

This program was held for four days, starting from 14^th to 17^th June, 2019 and has been officiated by the Vice Chancellor of UNIMAS, Professor Datuk Dr Mohamad Kadim bin Suaidi.

For the 10^th cohort, PPPU offers three programs which are Foundation in Life Sciences, Foundation in Physical Sciences and International Foundation in Science (IFS).

Both the Foundation in Life Sciences and Foundation in Physical Sciences Programs have been awarded full accreditation by the Malaysian Qualification Agency (MQA) that acknowledges the programs’ compliance to MQA’s standards. IFS is a new program offered starting from the 2018/2019 session.

This program is open to both Malaysian citizens and international students. This is one of the initiatives by UNIMAS to share knowledge to a wider population.
