Announcement: UNIMAS AHA Training Site Course Calendar 2018 (2^nd Half)

The UNIMAS American Heart Association (AHA) Training Site is pleased to announce its latest course offerings for the second half of 2018.

UNIMAS is an official training site that offers the following AHA Courses:

• Courses for Healthcare Professionals:
  • AHA Basic Life Support (BLS) Provider Course for Healthcare Providers
  • AHA Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) Provider Course
  • AHA Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) Provider Course
• Courses for Non-Medically Trained Personnel:
  • AHA Heartsaver® First Aid, CPR & AED Provider Course

Enrolled participants will receive the official AHA course package upon registration. Participants who successfully fulfill the assessment (written and skills testing) requirements of the course will be awarded with an AHA provider status which is internationally recognized and valid for 2-years.

All courses will be conducted by AHA certified instructors in the Clinical Simulation Centre, Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences, Universiti Malaysia Sarawak (UNIMAS), Kota Samarahan Campus. The training facility is fully equipped with simulators of varying fidelity levels to ensure our participants are fully immersed in the training programmes.

ISITI research fellow, Dr Sarah Flora Samson Juan, recently conducted Scratch 2.0 training workshops at three different Pusat Internet sites under the TIED project in Johor, Negeri Sembilan and Perak. The objective of these workshops was to provide Managers and Assistant Managers of the Pusat Internet with training on computational thinking through Scratch Programming, which can later be offered to members of the community. Scratch Programming is especially beneficial for children, as it enables them to think creatively, work collaboratively and reason systematically.

4. To provide a forum for the flow of information on Borneo research arising from many diverse sources;

KEJOHANAN BOLAJ ARING TERBUKA UNIMAS 2019 

5-7 APRIL 2019 / ARENA FUTSAL, KOMPLEK SUKAN UNIMAS

Kejohanan Bola Jaring Terbuka UNIMAS 2019 telah berlangsung dengan jayanya pada 5-7 April 2019 bertempat di Arena Futsal, Komplek Sukan UNIMAS. Ia buat julung kalinya dianjurkan oleh Pusat Sukan di mana dua (2) kategori telah dipertandingkan iaitu Kategori Lelaki dan Kategori Wanita. Sebanyak 21 pasukan wanita telah menyertai kejohanan ini termasuk pasukan dari Sabah dan Sarawak. Manakala Kategori Lelaki sebanyak 8 pasukan telah menyertai iaitu pasukan dari Brunei, Semenanjung dan Sarawak . Berikut adalah Keputusan Rasmi Kejohanan :

KOTA SAMARAHAN, 29 April 2019 – Sebagai usaha menyemarakkan program membaca, Pusat Khidmat Maklumat Akademik telah mengambil inisiatif menganjurkan Program Cinta Ilmu selama dua hari bermula 29 April lepas sebagai menyokong Read@UNIMAS dan menarik minat membaca dan memupuk kecintaan kepada ilmu dalam kalangan warga UNIMAS.

Objektif program adalah untuk menyemarakkan semangat membaca dalam kalangan warga UNIMAS,memupuk kecintaan kepada ilmu pengetahuan, menggalakkan kempen menderma buku dalam kalangan warga UNIMAS serta meningkatkan kesedaran budaya membaca di kalangan masyarakat.

Antara aktiviti diadakan seperti gimik perasmian, Jom Baca 10 minit, Read Out Loud  yang dilakukan oleh tiga orang pelajar dari sekolah SK St. Martin, SK Empila dan SK Dato Mohd Musa Samarahan, persembahan nyanyian oleh Adik Sofia Arissa, Read and Write with Emerald, pameran dan jualan buku dan cenderahati, jualan makanan dan minuman (food truck)Yakub

Istimewanya Program Cinta Ilmu kali ini turut dihadiri oleh  Miss Planet International 2019, Cik Viviana Lin Watson,19, yang telah mewakili Malaysia ke peringkat antarabangsa untuk Miss Planet International pada 1 Mac 2019 di Cambodia dan telah merangkul anugerah 2nd runner up Miss Planet International 2019 bersandarkan minat membaca yang mendalam dan mempunyai pengetahuan am yang luas.

Pelajar Tahun 3 Program Drama dan Teater akan mengadakan program yang bersifat akademik melalui kursus GKD3154 Seminar Drama dan Teater. Kursus ini merupakan landasan untuk para pelajar merancang dan terlibat dalam perbincangan bidang seni persembahan khususnya pementasan teater bangsawan alaf baru. Pada semester ini, pihak penganjur akan menjemput Dr. Marlenny Deenerwan yang kini berkhidmat  sebagai Ketua Jabatan Drama, Pusat Kebudayaan, Universiti Malaya untuk berkongsi ilmu tentang pengalaman dalam industri.
