Announcement: UNIMAS AHA Training Site Course Calendar 2018 (2^nd Half)

The UNIMAS American Heart Association (AHA) Training Site is pleased to announce its latest course offerings for the second half of 2018.

UNIMAS is an official training site that offers the following AHA Courses:

• Courses for Healthcare Professionals:
  • AHA Basic Life Support (BLS) Provider Course for Healthcare Providers
  • AHA Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) Provider Course
  • AHA Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) Provider Course
• Courses for Non-Medically Trained Personnel:
  • AHA Heartsaver® First Aid, CPR & AED Provider Course

Enrolled participants will receive the official AHA course package upon registration. Participants who successfully fulfill the assessment (written and skills testing) requirements of the course will be awarded with an AHA provider status which is internationally recognized and valid for 2-years.

All courses will be conducted by AHA certified instructors in the Clinical Simulation Centre, Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences, Universiti Malaysia Sarawak (UNIMAS), Kota Samarahan Campus. The training facility is fully equipped with simulators of varying fidelity levels to ensure our participants are fully immersed in the training programmes.

KOTA SAMARAHAN, 29 APRIL 2019: Fakulti Sains Komputer & Teknologi Maklumat (FSKTM), Universiti Malaysia Sarawak dengan kerjasama Kerajaan Negeri Sarawaktelah menganjurkan Bengkel Ekosistem dan Kelestarian Songket dan Keringkam Sarawak pada 29 April 2019 bertempat di Fakulti Sains Komputer & Teknologi Maklumat (FSKTM). Seramai 11 orang peserta yang menghadiri bengkel terdiri dari penenun songket dan penyulam keringkam yang berpengalaman dari Kuching, Kampung Gedong, Kampung Mang dan Kampung Kuala Rajang.

Antara objektif utama bengkel ini diadakan adalah untuk membantu penenun songket dan penyulam keringkam dalam mengekalkan kualiti pengeluaran produk serta mengembangkan isu dan masalah yang dihadapi oleh penenun dan penyulam. Dengan adanya program ini, komuniti songket dan keringkam dapat mengetahui saluran yang sesuai untuk mendapatkan keperluan dan bahan yang berkualiti supaya produk dapat dipasarkan ke peringkat global.

Bengkel ini telah dikendalikan oleh pensyarah FSKTM di bawah Projek Inovasi Songket dan Keringkam Sarawak iaitu Dr Dayang Hanani Abang Ibrahim dan Dr Nadianatra Musa serta pensyarah jemputan daripada Fakulti Ekonomi dan Perniagaan iaitu Prof Madya Dr Mohammad Affendy bin Arip.

Objectives

The objectives of the conference are as follows:

1. To promote and disseminate scientific research in the social, biological and medical sciences in Borneo;

2. To enable the research community, public, interested Borneo government departments, and others to keep abreast of ongoing research and its results;

3. To serve as a vehicle for drawing attention to urgent research and its results;

4. To provide a forum for the flow of information on Borneo research arising from many diverse sources;

The Conference will be held on campus at Detar Putra, Universiti Malaysia Sarawak, Kota Samarahan, Sarawak, Malaysia.

28 April,Kuching: Pasukan Karom UNIMAS telah beraksi cemerlang di Kejohanan Riverside Carrom Open 2019 yang telah berlangsung pada 27-28 April 2019 bertempat di Riverside Shoping Complex.

28 April, W.P Labuan: UNIMAS telah menghantar Pasukan Kayak pelajar menyertai Labuan Round Island Kayak Challenge 2019 pada 27-28 April 2019 bertempat di Komplek Sukan Air Antarabangsa, Labuan. 

30 April,Kota Samarahan (UNIMAS): Aksi di pentas Akhir perlawanan di antara Pasukan BHEPA menentang Pasukan BK Rovers menjadi detik bersejarah BHEPA apabila berjaya menewaskan pasukan lawan dengan kemenangan 2-0.

Dengan keazaman dan semangat berpasukan yang tinggi , Pasukan BHEPA telah bertekad berjuang untuk memenangi perlawanan dan seterusnya menjulang Piala Pengerusi LPU UNIMAS yang berprestij itu.

          Kementerian Tenaga, Sains, Teknologi, Alam Sekitar dan Perubahan Iklim (MESTECC) telah menerima pelawaan daripada Centre for Science and Technology of the Non-Aligned and Other Developing Countries( NAM S&T Centre) untuk menyertai Joint NAM S&T Centre - Zmt Bremen (Germany) Fellowship in "Tropical Coastal Marine Research": Call For Applications For 2019 anjuran bersama NAM S&T Centre dan Leibniz Centre for Tropical Marine Research (ZMT), Bremen, Germany.

        Program Fellowship ini akan berlangsung selama 3 bulan dan bidang penyelidikan yang menjadi keutamaan adalah bidang Ecology, Biogeochemistry, Geology, Theoretical Ecology dan Modelling, Social Sciences danTropical Coastal Marine Systems.

          Borang permohonan serta dokumen sokongan yang berkaitan kepada dihantar kepada nurulahernesto@mestecc.gov.my dan haslinda@mestecc.gov.my selewat-lewatnya pada 24 Mei 2019 (Jumaat), bagi tujuan pengesahan oleh MESTECC selaku Focal Point NAM S&T Centre di Malaysia.

         Calon yang berjaya dipilih oleh NAM S&T Centre, perbelanjaan penerbangan pergi-balik adalah ditanggung oleh NAM S&T Centre manakala pihak ZMT BREMEN akan memberikan elaun bulanan sebanyak € 1250 bagi menanggung kos penginapan, makan-minum dan lain-lain untuk tempoh 3 bulan.

KOTA SAMARAHAN, 29 April 2019 – Sebagai usaha menyemarakkan program membaca, Pusat Khidmat Maklumat Akademik telah mengambil inisiatif menganjurkan Program Cinta Ilmu selama dua hari bermula 29 April lepas sebagai menyokong Read@UNIMAS dan menarik minat membaca dan memupuk kecintaan kepada ilmu dalam kalangan warga UNIMAS.

Objektif program adalah untuk menyemarakkan semangat membaca dalam kalangan warga UNIMAS,memupuk kecintaan kepada ilmu pengetahuan, menggalakkan kempen menderma buku dalam kalangan warga UNIMAS serta meningkatkan kesedaran budaya membaca di kalangan masyarakat.

Antara aktiviti diadakan seperti gimik perasmian, Jom Baca 10 minit, Read Out Loud  yang dilakukan oleh tiga orang pelajar dari sekolah SK St. Martin, SK Empila dan SK Dato Mohd Musa Samarahan, persembahan nyanyian oleh Adik Sofia Arissa, Read and Write with Emerald, pameran dan jualan buku dan cenderahati, jualan makanan dan minuman (food truck)Yakub

Istimewanya Program Cinta Ilmu kali ini turut dihadiri oleh  Miss Planet International 2019, Cik Viviana Lin Watson,19, yang telah mewakili Malaysia ke peringkat antarabangsa untuk Miss Planet International pada 1 Mac 2019 di Cambodia dan telah merangkul anugerah 2nd runner up Miss Planet International 2019 bersandarkan minat membaca yang mendalam dan mempunyai pengetahuan am yang luas.

Kota Samarahan, 30th April 2019: Professor Dr Haji Rusli bin Haji Ahmad has delivered an inaugural lecture on the topic ‘Performance Appraisal: The Past, Present and the Way Forward’ at PITAS UNIMAS, today

His lecture offers an encompassing view of the role of performance appraisal in organizations highlighting the history, current practices and future trends of performance appraisal as a means of to enhance employee potential for both administrative and developmental purposes.

The inaugural lecture draws on Professor Dr Haji Rusli Ahmad’s extensive experience in teaching, researching and consulting in the area of performance appraisal. Professor Dr Haji Rusli Ahmad is currently teaching and supervising both undergraduates and postgraduates in the Human Resource Development (HRD) Program, Faculty of Cognitive Sciences and Human Development, UNIMAS where he has been since 1998.

His passion in education is reflected throughout his illustrious career; starting as a trained teacher in SMK Balai Ringin till today, a senior lecturer in UNIMAS. His research interests span across performance management and HRD practices.
