The UNIMAS American Heart Association (AHA) Training Site is pleased to announce its latest course offerings for the second half of 2018.

UNIMAS is an official training site that offers the following AHA Courses:

• Courses for Healthcare Professionals:
  • AHA Basic Life Support (BLS) Provider Course for Healthcare Providers
  • AHA Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) Provider Course
  • AHA Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) Provider Course
• Courses for Non-Medically Trained Personnel:
  • AHA Heartsaver® First Aid, CPR & AED Provider Course

Enrolled participants will receive the official AHA course package upon registration. Participants who successfully fulfill the assessment (written and skills testing) requirements of the course will be awarded with an AHA provider status which is internationally recognized and valid for 2-years.

All courses will be conducted by AHA certified instructors in the Clinical Simulation Centre, Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences, Universiti Malaysia Sarawak (UNIMAS), Kota Samarahan Campus. The training facility is fully equipped with simulators of varying fidelity levels to ensure our participants are fully immersed in the training programmes.

The Ideathon was a collaborative effort between The Telecommunication Technology Committee (TTC) Japan, Universiti Malaysia Sarawak (UNIMAS) and University College of Technology Sarawak (UCTS). This two - day event saw the participation of 74 bright young minds across faculties from both UNIMAS and UCTS. The competition was organised at the new myCapsule Space Lab, Faculty of Computer Science and Information Technology, UNIMAS.

The students constructed ideas to integrate with themes selected for the event; eEducation, eHealth, eAgriculture, eDisaster Management, eEnvironment Management, eTourism and Smart Cities. Each team worked endlessly to come up with the best solution to their identified problems, before pitching their ideas in front of an international judging panel of Computer Science and Information Technology experts.

SMART LRB emerged as champions of the Ideathon, comprising of team members Bhavani A/P Renganathan, Rupini A/P Muniandy, Logasshini A/P Nilavezhilan. Coming in second place was the team The BitJunkeys, comprising of members Ee Min Jie, Farhaan Iqbal, Koh Zhe Wei and Qan Khai Mun. Objectives

The objectives of the conference are as follows:

1. To promote and disseminate scientific research in the social, biological and medical sciences in Borneo;

2. To enable the research community, public, interested Borneo government departments, and others to keep abreast of ongoing research and its results;

3. To serve as a vehicle for drawing attention to urgent research and its results;

4. To provide a forum for the flow of information on Borneo research arising from many diverse sources;

The Conference will be held on campus at Detar Putra, Universiti Malaysia Sarawak, Kota Samarahan, Sarawak, Malaysia.

This will be a multidisciplinary conference dealing specifically with Borneo, with plenary sessions and sessions devoted to special topics and panels including but not limited to the following fields:

The CreativeCulture team met with 70 teachers from all 34 schools in Lawas this week, to share experiences gained from our project. It was such an eye-opening experience listening and talking to these wonderful spirited teachers, who are teaching some of the most challenging remote rural schools in Lawas, and perhaps in the country.

KOTA SAMARAHAN, 30 Mac 2019 : Para alumni UNIMAS menggalas tanggungjawab bersama dengan warga UNIMAS dalam pembangunan Universiti ini, kata Naib Canselor UNIMAS, Profesor Datuk Dr Mohamad Kadim Suaidi semasa berucap pada majlis makan malam graduan sulung UNIMAS anjuran Jabatan Perhubungan Alumni di bawah Pusat Pembangunan Pelajar UNIMAS, malam tadi.

Beliau berkata, tanggungjawab yang dimaksudkan sama ada dari segi infrastruktur, kualiti akademik, penyelidikan dan bantuan yuran pendidikan kepada pelajar miskin seperti contoh melalui sumbangan dana ke tabung endowmen dan wakaf UNIMAS.

“ Para alumni, berpeluang berganding bahu untuk memperkasakan, usaha universiti melahirkan lebih ramai intelek tempatan, lebih banyak usaha penyelidikan saintifik, penambahbaikan inovatif serta penganjuran program akademik terkemuka. Oleh itu, saya menyeru kepada para alumni, untuk terus menyumbang dana ke tabung amanah, melalui Bahagian Endowmen dan Wakaf UNIMAS,” katanya.

Naib Canselor menambah, di peringkat fakulti, alumni-alumni diharap dapat menjadi panel rujukan fakulti dalam membentuk struktur kokurikulum yang komprehensif dan komptetif dalam memenuhi keperluan majikan semasa.

KOTA SAMARAHAN, 29 April 2019 – Sebagai usaha menyemarakkan program membaca, Pusat Khidmat Maklumat Akademik telah mengambil inisiatif menganjurkan Program Cinta Ilmu selama dua hari bermula 29 April lepas sebagai menyokong Read@UNIMAS dan menarik minat membaca dan memupuk kecintaan kepada ilmu dalam kalangan warga UNIMAS.

Objektif program adalah untuk menyemarakkan semangat membaca dalam kalangan warga UNIMAS,memupuk kecintaan kepada ilmu pengetahuan, menggalakkan kempen menderma buku dalam kalangan warga UNIMAS serta meningkatkan kesedaran budaya membaca di kalangan masyarakat.

Antara aktiviti diadakan seperti gimik perasmian, Jom Baca 10 minit, Read Out Loud  yang dilakukan oleh tiga orang pelajar dari sekolah SK St. Martin, SK Empila dan SK Dato Mohd Musa Samarahan, persembahan nyanyian oleh Adik Sofia Arissa, Read and Write with Emerald, pameran dan jualan buku dan cenderahati, jualan makanan dan minuman (food truck)Yakub

By joining the run, donations will be made to aid those children diagnosed with autism. The details of the run are:
