The UNIMAS American Heart Association (AHA) Training Site is pleased to announce its latest course offerings for the second half of 2018.

UNIMAS is an official training site that offers the following AHA Courses:

• Courses for Healthcare Professionals:
  • AHA Basic Life Support (BLS) Provider Course for Healthcare Providers
  • AHA Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) Provider Course
  • AHA Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) Provider Course
• Courses for Non-Medically Trained Personnel:
  • AHA Heartsaver® First Aid, CPR & AED Provider Course

Enrolled participants will receive the official AHA course package upon registration. Participants who successfully fulfill the assessment (written and skills testing) requirements of the course will be awarded with an AHA provider status which is internationally recognized and valid for 2-years.

All courses will be conducted by AHA certified instructors in the Clinical Simulation Centre, Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences, Universiti Malaysia Sarawak (UNIMAS), Kota Samarahan Campus. The training facility is fully equipped with simulators of varying fidelity levels to ensure our participants are fully immersed in the training programmes.

Fin-Ace (Finance Student Association) has organized an inspiring and insightful mobility program - Academic & Cultural Exchange Trip to Tokyo, Japan this semester. The trip inclusive of 10 students are having the time of their life here in Reitaku University & Tokyo Japan from 15-23 April 2019. The Deputy Dean of HEPA of FEB, Dr Norazirah Ayob, Finance Program Coordinator, Naim Kamaruzaman, and lecturers, Azuriaty Atang, and Mohd Uzairi have accompanied the students.

The primary purpose of this trip is to expose the students of the Japanese culture, education system and business environments.

Other than the Reitaku University, the students are also going to visit MATRADE, Embassy of Malaysia at Tokyo, Muslim Professional Japan Association, Tokyo Stock Exchange and Bank of Japan.

Fin-Ace hopes that more similar programs were to be organised in future; for, students can have a fresh perspective and wholesome education experience that goes beyond the classroom.

3. To serve as a vehicle for drawing attention to urgent research and its results;

4. To provide a forum for the flow of information on Borneo research arising from many diverse sources;

Kuala Lumpur - Jamadil Azrul bin Ahmad, a 2nd year student of Design Technology Program from Faculty of Applied and Creative Arts has been chosen as Top 30 ACA Championship Malaysia 2019. ACA Championship Malaysia 2019, organized by Acestar Sdn Bhd, is a competition for Art and Design students. This competition is open to all institutions of higher learning, secondary schools, colleges, and polytechnics. Students are required to participate in the ACA Championship Malaysia (National Level), and the winner of this event will be chosen to participate at the ACA World Championship in New York, USA.

Jamadil attended the ACA Certification Workshop – Photoshop and ACA Championship Malaysia 2019 LIVE TEST as one of the steps to represent Malaysia in the ACA World Championship 2019 on 8th – 10th April 2019. All participants are required to attend the grand finale on the 12th -13th  June and the result will be announced on the 24th June. Kota Samarahan, 18 April 2019 – Pusat Sukan, Universiti Malaysia Sarawak dengan kerjasama Kesatuan Ragbi Malaysia akan menganjurkan Kejohanan Ragbi 7's Terbuka UNIMAS 2019 pada 19-20 April 2019 bertempat di Padang Ragbi, Komplek Sukan UNIMAS. Kejohanan ini dibahagikan kepada 2 kategori iaitu  lelaki dan wanita. Sebanyak 30 pasukan telah mengesahkan penyertaan iaitu 24 pasukan lelaki dan 7 pasukan wanita.

Permohonan Dana Penyelidikan KPM (DP KPM) akan dibuka untuk Penyelidikan Fundamental bagi Penyelidik Baharu (Fundamental Research Grant Scheme for Research Acculturation of Early Career Researchers – FRGS-RACER) yang merupakan dana tunas bertujuan untuk membudayakan penyelidikan di kalangan penyelidik baharu di Universiti Awam (UA) bukan berstatus Universiti Penyelidikan (Research University – RU) iaitu universiti rakan RU (RRU).

Para penyelidik yang berkelayakan mengikut syarat-syarat yang ditetapkan boleh membuat permohonan mulai 25 Mac 2019 sehingga 22 April 2019 menggunakan sistem MyGRANTS melalui pautan https://mygrants.gov.my. Semua permohonan yang telah dinilai di peringkat universiti perlu dikemukakan kepada Kementerian sebelum atau pada 31 Mei 2019, jam 11.59 malam.

UNIMAS – “You eat with your eyes first” or “Camera eats first” are that the phrases that we kept on hearing in the age of the social media. Thus, in-line with the commercial photography skill set required by the students of GKG2144 Digital Photography for Designers course, a Food Styling and Photography Workshop was organized on 6-7 April 2019. The workshop was organized in collaboration with NIKON Malaysia which was participated by more than 100 students from design technology and fine arts program. The objective of the workshop is to equip students with industrial expert on commercial photography especially on food photography.
The two days hands-on session was conducted by Eunice Martin Lim and her assistant Maggie Tay. Eunice Lim, the owner of Throughmylens Production previously won the 2017 Top Food Influencer Award by Gushcloud Asia. CIMB Malaysia, Nestum Malaysia, Air Asia, MAS Airlines, Hilton Kuala Lumpur, Oishi Green Tea, Huawei are few of her long list of clienteles. Antara aktiviti diadakan seperti gimik perasmian, Jom Baca 10 minit, Read Out Loud  yang dilakukan oleh tiga orang pelajar dari sekolah SK St. Martin, SK Empila dan SK Dato Mohd Musa Samarahan, persembahan nyanyian oleh Adik Sofia Arissa, Read and Write with Emerald, pameran dan jualan buku dan cenderahati, jualan makanan dan minuman (food truck)Yakub

Istimewanya Program Cinta Ilmu kali ini turut dihadiri oleh  Miss Planet International 2019, Cik Viviana Lin Watson,19, yang telah mewakili Malaysia ke peringkat antarabangsa untuk Miss Planet International pada 1 Mac 2019 di Cambodia dan telah merangkul anugerah 2nd runner up Miss Planet International 2019 bersandarkan minat membaca yang mendalam dan mempunyai pengetahuan am yang luas.
