The UNIMAS American Heart Association (AHA) Training Site is pleased to announce its latest course offerings for the second half of 2018.

UNIMAS is an official training site that offers the following AHA Courses:

• Courses for Healthcare Professionals:
  • AHA Basic Life Support (BLS) Provider Course for Healthcare Providers
  • AHA Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) Provider Course
  • AHA Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) Provider Course
• Courses for Non-Medically Trained Personnel:
  • AHA Heartsaver® First Aid, CPR & AED Provider Course

Enrolled participants will receive the official AHA course package upon registration. Participants who successfully fulfill the assessment (written and skills testing) requirements of the course will be awarded with an AHA provider status which is internationally recognized and valid for 2-years.

All courses will be conducted by AHA certified instructors in the Clinical Simulation Centre, Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences, Universiti Malaysia Sarawak (UNIMAS), Kota Samarahan Campus. The training facility is fully equipped with simulators of varying fidelity levels to ensure our participants are fully immersed in the training programmes.

Fin-Ace (Finance Student Association) has organized an inspiring and insightful mobility program - Academic & Cultural Exchange Trip to Tokyo, Japan this semester. The trip inclusive of 10 students are having the time of their life here in Reitaku University & Tokyo Japan from 15-23 April 2019. The Deputy Dean of HEPA of FEB, Dr Norazirah Ayob, Finance Program Coordinator, Naim Kamaruzaman, and lecturers, Azuriaty Atang, and Mohd Uzairi have accompanied the students.

The primary purpose of this trip is to expose the students of the Japanese culture, education system and business environments.

Other than the Reitaku University, the students are also going to visit MATRADE, Embassy of Malaysia at Tokyo, Muslim Professional Japan Association, Tokyo Stock Exchange and Bank of Japan.

Fin-Ace hopes that more similar programs were to be organised in future; for, students can have a fresh perspective and wholesome education experience that goes beyond the classroom.

KOTA SAMARAHAN, 29 April 2019 – Sebagai usaha menyemarakkan program membaca, Pusat Khidmat Maklumat Akademik telah mengambil inisiatif menganjurkan Program Cinta Ilmu selama dua hari bermula 29 April lepas sebagai menyokong Read@UNIMAS dan menarik minat membaca dan memupuk kecintaan kepada ilmu dalam kalangan warga UNIMAS.

Objektif program adalah untuk menyemarakkan semangat membaca dalam kalangan warga UNIMAS,memupuk kecintaan kepada ilmu pengetahuan, menggalakkan kempen menderma buku dalam kalangan warga UNIMAS serta meningkatkan kesedaran budaya membaca di kalangan masyarakat.

Antara aktiviti diadakan seperti gimik perasmian, Jom Baca 10 minit, Read Out Loud  yang dilakukan oleh tiga orang pelajar dari sekolah SK St. Martin, SK Empila dan SK Dato Mohd Musa Samarahan, persembahan nyanyian oleh Adik Sofia Arissa, Read and Write with Emerald, pameran dan jualan buku dan cenderahati, jualan makanan dan minuman (food truck)Yakub

Istimewanya Program Cinta Ilmu kali ini turut dihadiri oleh  Miss Planet International 2019, Cik Viviana Lin Watson,19, yang telah mewakili Malaysia ke peringkat antarabangsa untuk Miss Planet International pada 1 Mac 2019 di Cambodia dan telah merangkul anugerah 2nd runner up Miss Planet International 2019 bersandarkan minat membaca yang mendalam dan mempunyai pengetahuan am yang luas.

Kota Samarahan, 15 April 2019: A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed between Universiti Malaysia Sarawak and The Institute Of Chartered Accountants Of Scotland (ICAS) with the aim to explore areas for cooperation and collaboration such as research, academic and staff engagement.

This event was officiated by YBhg Professor Datuk Dr Mohamad Kadim Suaidi as Vice-Chancellor, Universiti Malaysia Sarawak and Professor Mark Allison, Executive Director, The Institute of Chartered Accountants of Scotland (ICAS).

This event was witnessed by Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Academic and International), Professor Dr Fasihuddin Badruddin Ahmad,  Dean of the Faculty of Economics and Business, Associate Professor Michael Tinggi and Mrs Ann Lamb, Director, The Institute of Chartered Accountants of Scotland (ICAS), as well as UNIMAS staff and other invited guests.

The Memorandum of Understanding is in line with UNIMAS's vision of being an exemplary university through the pursuit of excellence in teaching, research and scholarship.

UNIMAS and The Institute of Chartered Accountants of Scotland (ICAS) intend to develop and deliver innovative partnership education models, in conjunction with authorised training firms to offer an Undergraduate in Accountancy and the CA qualification.
