The UNIMAS American Heart Association (AHA) Training Site is pleased to announce its latest course offerings for the second half of 2018.

UNIMAS is an official training site that offers the following AHA Courses:

• Courses for Healthcare Professionals:
  • AHA Basic Life Support (BLS) Provider Course for Healthcare Providers
  • AHA Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) Provider Course
  • AHA Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) Provider Course
• Courses for Non-Medically Trained Personnel:
  • AHA Heartsaver® First Aid, CPR & AED Provider Course

Enrolled participants will receive the official AHA course package upon registration. Participants who successfully fulfill the assessment (written and skills testing) requirements of the course will be awarded with an AHA provider status which is internationally recognized and valid for 2-years.

All courses will be conducted by AHA certified instructors in the Clinical Simulation Centre, Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences, Universiti Malaysia Sarawak (UNIMAS), Kota Samarahan Campus. The training facility is fully equipped with simulators of varying fidelity levels to ensure our participants are fully immersed in the training programmes.

Fin-Ace (Finance Student Association) has organized an inspiring and insightful mobility program - Academic & Cultural Exchange Trip to Tokyo, Japan this semester. The trip inclusive of 10 students are having the time of their life here in Reitaku University & Tokyo Japan from 15-23 April 2019. The Deputy Dean of HEPA of FEB, Dr Norazirah Ayob, Finance Program Coordinator, Naim Kamaruzaman, and lecturers, Azuriaty Atang, and Mohd Uzairi have accompanied the students.

The primary purpose of this trip is to expose the students of the Japanese culture, education system and business environments.

Other than the Reitaku University, the students are also going to visit MATRADE, Embassy of Malaysia at Tokyo, Muslim Professional Japan Association, Tokyo Stock Exchange and Bank of Japan.

Fin-Ace hopes that more similar programs were to be organised in future; for, students can have a fresh perspective and wholesome education experience that goes beyond the classroom.

Amalia Menggalakkan Kaunselor untuk Mengaplikasikan Kajian Eksperimental dalam Penyelidikan Kaunseling

Kuching, Rabu – Satu perkongsian bersama dengan kaunselor telah diadakan dalam Bengkel Introduction to Experimental Research Designs to the Counsellors di UNIMAS City Campus (UCC), Kuching selama dua hari, 9-10 April 2019. Bengkel ini diadakan di bawah PROCEL UNIMAS yang dikendalikan oleh pensyarah FSKPM. Matlamat utama bengkel ini adalah untuk memperkenalkan dan menggalakkan kaunselor dan pelajar kaunseling untuk mengaplikasikan rekabentuk eksperimental dalam penyelidikan kaunseling. Menurut Amalia, rekabentuk eksperimental ini akan membuka ruang kepada kaunselor untuk berkongsi dapatan kajian secara empirikal selain mengukur kesan intervensi kaunseling secara analisa statistiks. Amalia menambah bahawa intervensi kaunseling ini seperti pembinaan modul/intervensi rawatan kaunseling, teknik rawatan kaunseling dan sebagainya adalah merupakan produk atau inovasi dalam bidang kaunseling.

Hasil daripada kajian ekperimental ini akan membantu kaunselor dan pelajar kaunseling akan berada pada satu tahap penyelidikan yang tinggi dan seiring dengan bidang profesional yang lain seperti perubatan dan kejuruteraan. Bersama-sama menjayakan bengkel intensif ini bersama Dr Amalia Madihie adalah Puan Nur Fatihah Mat Yusoff, pakar statistik FSKPM.

KUARTET 4X400M WANITA UNIMAS RAIH EMAS DI KEJOHANAN OLAHRAGA TERBUKA SARAWAK 2019

Syabas & Tahniah diucapkan kepada kuartet 4x400m Wanita UNIMAS yang telah meraih pingat emas di Kejohanan Olahraga Terbuka Sarawak 2019 Kali Ke-66 pada 13-14 April 2019 bertempat di Stadium Sarawak, Petra Jaya. Kuartet cemerlang ini telah mengenepikan kuartet dari SMK Asajaya dan SMK Sematan dengan catatan masa 4:55.08. Kuartet 4x400m UNIMAS terdiri daripada Marjorie Umban ak Robert, Patricia Awing Balan, Didinadira Charles Fung dan Cherynna Corey Chin.

Kuala Lumpur, 2 April 2019 – Dr Amalia Madihie dan Mohd Shahrul Kamaruddin telah memenangi Medal Emas dalam Kategori Akademik di International Counselling Innovation 2019 (i-COUNNOVAS19) anjuran Persatuan Kaunseling Malaysia Antarabangsa (PERKAMA International) sempena Konvesyen PERKAMA 2019 tahun ini. Inovasi yang dinamakan sebagai ‘Model ABC & Flash Card REBT: Belajar ABC ke arah Rasional’ telah memenangi Medal Emas. Inovasi ini dibina berdasarkan Teori Kognitif di mana pendekatan teknik Rational Emotive Behavior Therapy (REBT) diaplikasikan. Kepada kaunselor berdaftar, pengamal kaunseling, dan pelajar kaunseling yang berminat untuk mendapat inovasi ini, bolehlah menghubungi Dr Amalia sendiri dan inovasi ini akan dikomersilkan.

KOTA SAMARAHAN, 29 April 2019 – Sebagai usaha menyemarakkan program membaca, Pusat Khidmat Maklumat Akademik telah mengambil inisiatif menganjurkan Program Cinta Ilmu selama dua hari bermula 29 April lepas sebagai menyokong Read@UNIMAS dan menarik minat membaca dan memupuk kecintaan kepada ilmu dalam kalangan warga UNIMAS.

Objektif program adalah untuk menyemarakkan semangat membaca dalam kalangan warga UNIMAS,memupuk kecintaan kepada ilmu pengetahuan, menggalakkan kempen menderma buku dalam kalangan warga UNIMAS serta meningkatkan kesedaran budaya membaca di kalangan masyarakat.

Antara aktiviti diadakan seperti gimik perasmian, Jom Baca 10 minit, Read Out Loud  yang dilakukan oleh tiga orang pelajar dari sekolah SK St. Martin, SK Empila dan SK Dato Mohd Musa Samarahan, persembahan nyanyian oleh Adik Sofia Arissa, Read and Write with Emerald, pameran dan jualan buku dan cenderahati, jualan makanan dan minuman (food truck)Yakub

Istimewanya Program Cinta Ilmu kali ini turut dihadiri oleh  Miss Planet International 2019, Cik Viviana Lin Watson,19, yang telah mewakili Malaysia ke peringkat antarabangsa untuk Miss Planet International pada 1 Mac 2019 di Cambodia dan telah merangkul anugerah 2nd runner up Miss Planet International 2019 bersandarkan minat membaca yang mendalam dan mempunyai pengetahuan am yang luas.

Kota Samarahan, 15 April 2019 - Jawatankuasa Perwakilan Kolej Cempaka Sesi 2018/2019 dengan kerjasama Jawatankuasa Kolej Mahasiswa Kolej Tun Fatimah, Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM) Skudai, Johor telah menganjurkan Program The Tour: Malaya X Borneo X Jelajah Srikandi 3.0 yang dijalankan semasa cuti pertengahan semester yang lalu.

Program yang berlangsung dari 27 hingga 30 Mac 2019 bertempat di Kampung Nanas, Simunjan ini adalah hasil kerjasama dengan JKKK Kampung Nanas, Simunjan, Majlis Daerah Simunjan dan beberapa agensi-agensi kerajaan dan bukan kerajaan yang lain.

Terdapat sembilan aktiviti yang telah dilaksanakan iaitu Penjagaan Kebersihan Gigi – Clean Them Right, Oh My English! Class, Lukisan Mural di Tabika Kemas C, Hiking/Plogging di Gunung Ngeli, Jelajah Sihat, Love Yourself, Take Care Of Your Hygiene Session, Projek Botani, Gotong-Royong serta Majlis Kesyukuran bersama penduduk kampung dan diakhiri dengan majlis penutupan program.

Program ini yang berkonsepkan servis komuniti bertujuan untuk meningkatkan kemahiran sosial dan komunikasi, memupuk semangat kesukarelawanan di dalam diri mahasiswa dan mahasiswi UNIMAS dan UTM sekaligus mendedahkan budaya masyarakat Melayu Sarawak kepada umum.
