Announcement: UNIMAS AHA Training Site Course Calendar 2018 (2^nd Half)

The UNIMAS American Heart Association (AHA) Training Site is pleased to announce its latest course offerings for the second half of 2018.

UNIMAS is an official training site that offers the following AHA Courses:

• Courses for Healthcare Professionals:
  • AHA Basic Life Support (BLS) Provider Course for Healthcare Providers
  • AHA Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) Provider Course
  • AHA Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) Provider Course
• Courses for Non-Medically Trained Personnel:
  • AHA Heartsaver® First Aid, CPR & AED Provider Course

Enrolled participants will receive the official AHA course package upon registration. Participants who successfully fulfill the assessment (written and skills testing) requirements of the course will be awarded with an AHA provider status which is internationally recognized and valid for 2-years.

All courses will be conducted by AHA certified instructors in the Clinical Simulation Centre, Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences, Universiti Malaysia Sarawak (UNIMAS), Kota Samarahan Campus. The training facility is fully equipped with simulators of varying fidelity levels to ensure our participants are fully immersed in the training programmes.

Objectives

The objectives of the conference are as follows:

1. To promote and disseminate scientific research in the social, biological and medical sciences in Borneo;

2. To enable the research community, public, interested Borneo government departments, and others to keep abreast of ongoing research and its results;

3. To serve as a vehicle for drawing attention to urgent research and its results;

4. To provide a forum for the flow of information on Borneo research arising from many diverse sources;

The Conference will be held on campus at Detar Putra, Universiti Malaysia Sarawak, Kota Samarahan, Sarawak, Malaysia.

This will be a multidisciplinary conference dealing specifically with Borneo, with plenary sessions and sessions devoted to special topics and panels including but not limited to the following fields:

KOTA SAMARAHAN, 29 April 2019 – Sebagai usaha menyemarakkan program membaca, Pusat Khidmat Maklumat Akademik telah mengambil inisiatif menganjurkan Program Cinta Ilmu selama dua hari bermula 29 April lepas sebagai menyokong Read@UNIMAS dan menarik minat membaca dan memupuk kecintaan kepada ilmu dalam kalangan warga UNIMAS.

Objektif program adalah untuk menyemarakkan semangat membaca dalam kalangan warga UNIMAS,memupuk kecintaan kepada ilmu pengetahuan, menggalakkan kempen menderma buku dalam kalangan warga UNIMAS serta meningkatkan kesedaran budaya membaca di kalangan masyarakat.

Antara aktiviti diadakan seperti gimik perasmian, Jom Baca 10 minit, Read Out Loud  yang dilakukan oleh tiga orang pelajar dari sekolah SK St. Martin, SK Empila dan SK Dato Mohd Musa Samarahan, persembahan nyanyian oleh Adik Sofia Arissa, Read and Write with Emerald, pameran dan jualan buku dan cenderahati, jualan makanan dan minuman (food truck)Yakub

Istimewanya Program Cinta Ilmu kali ini turut dihadiri oleh  Miss Planet International 2019, Cik Viviana Lin Watson,19, yang telah mewakili Malaysia ke peringkat antarabangsa untuk Miss Planet International pada 1 Mac 2019 di Cambodia dan telah merangkul anugerah 2nd runner up Miss Planet International 2019 bersandarkan minat membaca yang mendalam dan mempunyai pengetahuan am yang luas.

Pelajar Tahun 3 Program Drama dan Teater akan mengadakan program yang bersifat akademik melalui kursus GKD3154 Seminar Drama dan Teater. Kursus ini merupakan landasan untuk para pelajar merancang dan terlibat dalam perbincangan bidang seni persembahan khususnya pementasan teater bangsawan alaf baru. Pada semester ini, pihak penganjur akan menjemput Dr. Marlenny Deenerwan yang kini berkhidmat  sebagai Ketua Jabatan Drama, Pusat Kebudayaan, Universiti Malaya untuk berkongsi ilmu tentang pengalaman dalam industri.

“Program Kaunseling Bimbingan Keluarga Sejahtera, Motivasi Kerja Berganda”

Petra Jaya, 28 Mac 2019 - Pelajar Sarjana Kaunseling Kohort 4 dan Sarjana Muda Kaunseling Fakulti Sains Kognitif dan Pembangunan Manusia dengan kerjasama PEMURNI Jabatan Kimia Malaysia Negeri Sarawak telah mengadakan program kaunseling yang bertajuk “Keluarga Sejahtera, Motivasi Kerja Berganda”. Program ini telah berlangsung selama 2 hari, iaitu pada 27 dan 28 Mac 2019, bertempat di Bilik Sejinjang, Jabatan Kimia Malaysia Negeri Sarawak di Petra Jaya, Kuching. Seramai 50 orang pekerja yang dipilih sebagai peserta yang terlibat dalam usaha untuk memperkasakan dan memotivasi para pekerja. Rasional program ini dijalankan adalah untuk membantu pekerja dalam menyeimbangkan tanggungjawab terhadap keluarga dan tanggungjawab sebagai penjawat awam. Di samping itu, pengisian program ini juga secara tidak langsung dapat meningkatkan motivasi para pegawai dalam menjalankan tugas seharian disamping memahami potensi diri dengan lebih mendalam. KOTA SAMARAHAN, 9 April 2019 - JobStreet.com recently conducted a survey to identify the top 10 most favourable companies in Sarawak. The Top 10 Companies 2019 survey gathered over 1125 Sarawakians jobseekers to participate in the online survey.

The survey’s results showed that oil and gas companies remain the most highly sought-after industry by Sarawakians jobseekers who have registered with JobStreet.com, securing the two top spots in the ranking. PETRONAS, Malaysia’s state oil firm secured the top spot, followed by Anglo-Dutch multinational, Shell.

Sarawak based company, Sarawak Energy appeared to be the third choice, while Cahaya Mata Sarawak and Air Asia occupied the fourth and fifth places respectively. Maybank, Naim Holdings Berhad, Shin Yang Group of Companies, Petros and Sime Darby were among the companies within the top 10 list.

The survey highlighted that Sarawakians employees prioritise career development after company reputation. Salary remained one of the top 3 aspirations and considerations for Sarawakian employees across all position levels.
