The UNIMAS American Heart Association (AHA) Training Site is pleased to announce its latest course offerings for the second half of 2018.

UNIMAS is an official training site that offers the following AHA Courses:

• Courses for Healthcare Professionals:
  • AHA Basic Life Support (BLS) Provider Course for Healthcare Providers
  • AHA Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) Provider Course
  • AHA Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) Provider Course
• Courses for Non-Medically Trained Personnel:
  • AHA Heartsaver® First Aid, CPR & AED Provider Course

Enrolled participants will receive the official AHA course package upon registration. Participants who successfully fulfill the assessment (written and skills testing) requirements of the course will be awarded with an AHA provider status which is internationally recognized and valid for 2-years.

All courses will be conducted by AHA certified instructors in the Clinical Simulation Centre, Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences, Universiti Malaysia Sarawak (UNIMAS), Kota Samarahan Campus. Brief Summary:

Borneo Business Research Week (BBRW) is one-week workshop using mentor-mentee program. Two to Three participants will be assigned to a mentor, who are professors in Business and Economics studies.

Theme:  Promise and Peril of Management Studies in Digital Era

Outcome:

All participants will have comprehensive understanding about business and economics research and personal research plan. Participants have to submit their revised manuscript to reputable journal within three months after the workshop.

Fees and Accommodation:

Participants will not pay anything to join BBRW, where accommodation and meals during the stay are covered by the organizer. Participants from outside Sarawak Malaysia only need to pay their flight ticket, while pick-up service from and to airport will be provided by the organizer.

KOTA SAMARAHAN, 29 April 2019 – Sebagai usaha menyemarakkan program membaca, Pusat Khidmat Maklumat Akademik telah mengambil inisiatif menganjurkan Program Cinta Ilmu selama dua hari bermula 29 April lepas sebagai menyokong Read@UNIMAS dan menarik minat membaca dan memupuk kecintaan kepada ilmu dalam kalangan warga UNIMAS.

Objektif program adalah untuk menyemarakkan semangat membaca dalam kalangan warga UNIMAS,memupuk kecintaan kepada ilmu pengetahuan, menggalakkan kempen menderma buku dalam kalangan warga UNIMAS serta meningkatkan kesedaran budaya membaca di kalangan masyarakat.

Antara aktiviti diadakan seperti gimik perasmian, Jom Baca 10 minit, Read Out Loud  yang dilakukan oleh tiga orang pelajar dari sekolah SK St. Martin, SK Empila dan SK Dato Mohd Musa Samarahan, persembahan nyanyian oleh Adik Sofia Arissa, Read and Write with Emerald, pameran dan jualan buku dan cenderahati, jualan makanan dan minuman (food truck)Yakub

Istimewanya Program Cinta Ilmu kali ini turut dihadiri oleh  Miss Planet International 2019, Cik Viviana Lin Watson,19, yang telah mewakili Malaysia ke peringkat antarabangsa untuk Miss Planet International pada 1 Mac 2019 di Cambodia dan telah merangkul anugerah 2nd runner up Miss Planet International 2019 bersandarkan minat membaca yang mendalam dan mempunyai pengetahuan am yang luas.

KOTA SAMARAHAN, 5 Julai 2018 : Kepentingan adat resam di dalam hidup masyarakat tidak kira apa bangsa sekalipun tidak dapat dinafikan, kata Naib Canselor UNIMAS, Profesor Datuk Dr Mohamad Kadim Suadi dalam majlis pelancaran buku Keunggulan Adat Resam Melayu Sarawak Pada Hari Raya Aidilfitri, pagi tadi di Dewan Bankuet DeTAR PUTRA UNIMAS.

Menurut beliau, adat resam merupakan kebiasaan cara hidup yang diamalkan oleh sesuatu masyarakat yang dapat menggambarkan corak budaya masyarakat tersebut.

“ Dalam konteks ini adat resam Melayu Sarawak semasa menyambut Aidilfitri seperti yang diketengahkan dalam buku ini adalah unik, sangat menarik dan dilalui oleh sebilangan besar masyarakat Melayu Islam yang terdahulu.

“ Kemungkinan besar juga hanya dialami oleh sebilangan kecil masyarakat Melayu Islam masa kini. Acara menangguk contohnya atau dikenali sebagai menyadak wang sumbangan daripada para jemaah selepas menunaikan sembahyang sunat Aidilfitri di surau atau masjid hanya berlaku di Sarawak,” katanya.

Beliau memuji usaha penulis merakamkan pelbagai aspek adat melayu Sarawak semasa Hari Raya Aidilfitri untuk memastikan ianya tidak hilang ditelan dek zaman dan membolehkan generasi muda terutama sekali mengetahui serta memahami adat resam.

KOTA SAMARAHAN, 6 July 2018 : The Pacific Early Childhood Education Research Association, better known as PECERA, has successfully launched its 2018 annual conference on 6^th July 2018 at Hilton Kuching, Sarawak, today.

It was officiated by YB Dato Sri Hajah Fatimah Abdullah, Minister of Welfare, Community Wellbeing, Women, Family and Childhood Development, Sarawak.

PECERA 2018 is an auspicious occasion as it is the first ever PECERA annual conference to be hosted in Malaysia.

Dedicated to disseminating and supporting research in early childhood education within the Pacific area, PECERA 19^th International Annual Conference will be held for 3 consecutive days starting 6^th July until 8^th July 2018 at Hilton Kuching.

The 3-day conference is designed for a broad range of professionals: teachers, doctors, educators, leaders and experts representing the wide variety of fields in early childhood. Hadir memeriahkan Ngabang Raya UNIMAS ialah Tuan Yang Terutama Yang di-Pertua Negeri Sarawak merangkap Canselor UNIMAS, Tun Pehin Sri Haji Abdul Taib Mahmud dan Yang Amat Berbahagia Toh Puan Datuk Patinggi Hajjah Raghad Kurdi Taib.

Dalam ucapan ringkas, Naib Canselor UNIMAS, Profesor Datuk Dr Mohamad Kadim Suaidi mewakili warga UNIMAS meluahkan rasa berbesar hati atas kehadiran TYT dan Toh Puan dalam majlis ngabang raya kali ini.

“ UNIMAS amat bertuah pada hari ini kerana Tuan Yang Terutama Tun dan Yang Amat Berbahagia Toh Puan sudi bersama dalam meraikan Majlis Retro Ngabang Raya pada tahun ini. Kesudian Tuan Yang Terutama Tun untuk hadir pada hari ini, sesungguhnya amat bermakna buat seluruh warga Universiti,” katanya.

Kota Samarahan,  30 August 2018: A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed between Universiti Malaysia Sarawak and Estream Software Sdn. Bhd, Malaysia with the aim of establishing a basis upon which UNIMAS and Estream may explore areas for cooperation and collaboration such as research, staff engagement, industrial study visits and student industrial placement.

This event was officiated by Ybhg Professor Datuk Dr Mohamad Kadim Suaidi as Vice-Chancellor, Universiti Malaysia Sarawak and Mr Desmond Law Hoe Yan, Managing Director of Estream Software Sdn. Bhd, Malaysia.

This event was witnessed by Dean of the Faculty of Economics and Business, Associate Professor Michael Tinggi and Ms Ong Bee Wei, the Education Advisor of Estream Software Sdn. Bhd., as well as Unimas staff and other invited guests.
