The UNIMAS American Heart Association (AHA) Training Site is pleased to announce its latest course offerings for the second half of 2018.

UNIMAS is an official training site that offers the following AHA Courses:

• Courses for Healthcare Professionals:
  • AHA Basic Life Support (BLS) Provider Course for Healthcare Providers
  • AHA Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) Provider Course
  • AHA Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) Provider Course
• Courses for Non-Medically Trained Personnel:
  • AHA Heartsaver® First Aid, CPR & AED Provider Course

Enrolled participants will receive the official AHA course package upon registration. Participants who successfully fulfill the assessment (written and skills testing) requirements of the course will be awarded with an AHA provider status which is internationally recognized and valid for 2-years.

All courses will be conducted by AHA certified instructors in the Clinical Simulation Centre, Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences, Universiti Malaysia Sarawak (UNIMAS), Kota Samarahan Campus. KOTA SAMARAHAN, 12 Mei 2018: Fakulti Sains Komputer & Teknologi Maklumat (FSKTM), Universiti Malaysia Sarawak dengan kerjasama Kerajaan Negeri Sarawak telah menganjurkan Bengkel Pembungkusan dan Pelabelan pada 11 hingga 12 Mei 2018 bertempat di Fakulti Sains Komputer & Teknologi Maklumat (FSKTM). Seramai 21 peserta yang menghadiri bengkel terdiri dari pengusaha serta penenun songket dan penyulam keringkam dari kampung di sekitar Kuching, Kampung Gedong, Kampung Mang dan Kampung Kuala Rajang.

Antara objektif utama bengkel ini adalah untuk membantu pengusaha serta penenun songket dan penyulam keringkam dari segi cara pembungkusan, kepentingan sesebuah pembungkusan, prinsip asas pembungkusan secara professional, pemilihan bahan pembungkusan, nilai dan panduan penceritaan, tips pembungkusan, prinsip asas rekaan penlabelan menggunakan perisian dan panduan pelindungan penghantaran kepada pelanggan. Dengan adanya program ini dapat membantu menaiktaraf cara dan stail pembungkusan dan pelabelan yang lebih meyakinkan, menarik dan ekslusif sebelum memasuki pasaran global dan pasaran E-Commerce.

Bengkel ini telah dikendalikan oleh pensyarah FSKTM di bawah Projek Inovasi Songket dan Keringkam Sarawak.

4. To provide a forum for the flow of information on Borneo research arising from many diverse sources;

MAJLIS RAMAH TAMAH AIDIL FITRI MASNITA 2018

Kota Samarahan, 13 Julai 2018 – Persatuan Wanita Universiti Malaysia Sarawak (MASNITA) mengadakan Majlis Ramah Tamah Aidil Fitri, bertempat di Dewan Kristal, Hal Ehwal Pelajar.

Kuantan, Pahang : Pasukan Olahraga Sarawak telah berjaya meraih 2 Perak dan 4 Gangsa di Kejohanan Olahraga MAKSAK Kebangsaan 2018 yang telah berlangsung di Stadium Darul Makmur, Kuantan, Pahang pada 5-8 Julai 2018 . Universiti Malaysia Sarawak (UNIMAS) telah diberi kepercayaan untuk mengendalikan Pasukan Olahraga Sarawak di mana En. Zambari Hj Baijuri (Timbalan Pengarah, Pusat Sukan) selaku Pengurus Pasukan Olahraga Sarawak bersama 14 orang atlet telah menyahut cabaran di kejohanan peringkat kebangsaan tersebut. Seramai 8 orang daripada atlet Pasukan Olahraga MAKSAK Sarawak adalah staf UNIMAS. Berikut adalah senarai atlet dan acara yang dimenangi :

KOTA SAMARAHAN, 29 April 2019 – Sebagai usaha menyemarakkan program membaca, Pusat Khidmat Maklumat Akademik telah mengambil inisiatif menganjurkan Program Cinta Ilmu selama dua hari bermula 29 April lepas sebagai menyokong Read@UNIMAS dan menarik minat membaca dan memupuk kecintaan kepada ilmu dalam kalangan warga UNIMAS.

Objektif program adalah untuk menyemarakkan semangat membaca dalam kalangan warga UNIMAS,memupuk kecintaan kepada ilmu pengetahuan, menggalakkan kempen menderma buku dalam kalangan warga UNIMAS serta meningkatkan kesedaran budaya membaca di kalangan masyarakat.

Antara aktiviti diadakan seperti gimik perasmian, Jom Baca 10 minit, Read Out Loud  yang dilakukan oleh tiga orang pelajar dari sekolah SK St. Martin, SK Empila dan SK Dato Mohd Musa Samarahan, persembahan nyanyian oleh Adik Sofia Arissa, Read and Write with Emerald, pameran dan jualan buku dan cenderahati, jualan makanan dan minuman (food truck)Yakub

Istimewanya Program Cinta Ilmu kali ini turut dihadiri oleh  Miss Planet International 2019, Cik Viviana Lin Watson,19, yang telah mewakili Malaysia ke peringkat antarabangsa untuk Miss Planet International pada 1 Mac 2019 di Cambodia dan telah merangkul anugerah 2nd runner up Miss Planet International 2019 bersandarkan minat membaca yang mendalam dan mempunyai pengetahuan am yang luas.

 KUCHING, SARAWAK: 2018 marks the 2^nd Asia Pacific Hash and this year, the Kuching City Hash Club (KCH) welcomes everyone from all around Asia to come to Kuching, Sarawak and participate in this event. KCH collaborated with Faculty of Computer Science and Information Technology (FCSIT) from Universiti Malaysia Sarawak, (UNIMAS) to develop eRaceColl, a web-based Race Pack Entry Collection Solution to improve the process of registration and race pack collection for nearly 2000 participants. 

Based on previous experience, the registration for the hash event were done manually, which means that the facilitators are using the paper form, an excel sheet to record all the participants’ registration and race pack distribution. Now, eRaceColl consolidates the data ranging from individual, group and even sub-group registration where the registration data consists of participants’ real name, hash name, hash chapter and size of the t-shirt. Not only that, it allows the registration committee to search the name of the participants, t-shirt size and their collection status easily. Thus, it could greatly improve the registration queuing system by having a centralized data storage accessed from multiple registration counters.

Universiti Malaysia Kelantan (UMK) : Universiti Malaysia Sarawak (UNIMAS) telah menghantar peserta ke Karnival Sukan MASUM Fasa 1, 2018 di Universiti Malaysia Kelantan (UMK) mulai 15-21 Julai 2018. Seramai 4 orang pegawai yang diketuai oleh En. Zambari Hj Baijuri (Timbalan Pengarah , Pusat Sukan UNIMAS) selaku Ketua Kontinjen bersama 6 orang atlet telah berada di sana dan bersedia untuk memberi saingan kepada pasukan lawan. UNIMAS menyertai 2 acara sukan iaitu Catur (individu) dan Bola Keranjang Lelaki (3x3). Bersama-samalah kita warga UNIMAS mendoakan semoga atlet-atlet yang bertanding beroleh kejayaan yang cemerlang.

Kota Samarahan,  30 August 2018: A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed between Universiti Malaysia Sarawak and Estream Software Sdn. Bhd, Malaysia with the aim of establishing a basis upon which UNIMAS and Estream may explore areas for cooperation and collaboration such as research, staff engagement, industrial study visits and student industrial placement.

This event was officiated by Ybhg Professor Datuk Dr Mohamad Kadim Suaidi as Vice-Chancellor, Universiti Malaysia Sarawak and Mr Desmond Law Hoe Yan, Managing Director of Estream Software Sdn. Bhd, Malaysia.

This event was witnessed by Dean of the Faculty of Economics and Business, Associate Professor Michael Tinggi and Ms Ong Bee Wei, the Education Advisor of Estream Software Sdn. Bhd., as well as Unimas staff and other invited guests.

The Memorandum of Understanding is in line with UNIMAS's vision of being an exemplary university through the pursuit of excellence in teaching, research and scholarship.
